Boating Victoria Officially Launched

Boating Victoria, formed to represent the interests of powerboat owners at clubs throughout Victoria was officially launched at Sandringham Yacht Club on October 25

Yachting Victoria chief executive officer Ross Kilborn commended the work of the Boating Victoria committee which, over the last 18 months, has grown Boating Victoria into an active organisation set to deliver an extensive calendar of summer events.

The Victorian BIA chief executive officer, Lindsay Grenfell, congratulated the initiative of Boating Victoria.

“It is very important that all interested boating groups unite and work together to achieve the best outcomes for the boating community. By representing the users, Boating Victoria will be an important part of that.”

Boating Victoria chairman Kevin Ezard unveiled plans for the new organisation’s development during the launch.

While emphasising that power and sailboat owners had common interests, it was important that the special interests of powerboaters were addressed, he said.
