Boating Partnerships with Riviera

Designed for those who have limited time but a love of luxury boating, Boating Partnerships is a relatively new Sydney-based boat-syndication service but now the only one with the official endorsement and support of Riviera.

Working in partnership with the Queensland boatbuilder, Boating Partnerships shares the purchase and monthly maintenance of a brand-new Riviera or Belize motoryacht between up to six like-minded owners.

Each shareholder under the new Boating Partnerships arrangement will enjoy all the benefits of being part of the global family of Riviera luxury motoryacht owners, as well as the aftermarket support of the nationwide R Marine Network of Riviera and Belize dealers.

Boating Partnerships managing director Tom van Vliet (pictured above) said the program offered many new and exclusive benefits to boating enthusiasts who were looking for a premium concierge-style syndication ownership that allowed for more time on the water.

"Each partner in a Riviera operated under the Boating Partnerships program enters a tenancy in common and receives a title of ownership in proportion to the share they have purchased, protecting their equity in the yacht," van Vliet said.

"Boating Partnerships agreements are for a period of three years and based on a one-sixth share where owners will be able to enjoy up to 52 days each year aboard.

"Owners also have the ability to book additional days that are unreserved within a 48-hour stand-by function, all managed by the experienced and dedicated Boating Partnerships team and the nearest R Marine dealership."

Mr van Vliet said a professional crew will maintain each Riviera in premium condition for the ownership period, and the annual maintenance, slipping and berthing costs are affordably shared between the yacht’s owners.

"With Boating Partnerships, the choice of how to use each new luxury Riviera is agreed by the shareholders and the Boating Partnerships team," he said.

Boating Partnerships owners can base their boats in, say, Sydney or the Gold Coast, and then the shareholders may choose to cruise to the Whitsundays. In so doing, owners can also gain experience with coastal passage-making under the guidance of an experienced sea captain between ports,

"For us, it's all about service. That's going to be our point of difference. Unlike some other operators, we're offering a full concierge service 24/7. Owners can fly into Hamilton Island and we'll have everything organised from local prawns and seafood on ice, sourced by local providores, to fishing guides and skippers who know the best fishing spots on the reef," van Vliet says, who already manages several boats on the water in Sydney and Hamilton Island.

The Riviera hookup is an exclusive for van Vliet, who has extensive boat-share experience working with past operators. He says there's now an opening for a motivated boat-equity company based in Sydney using Riviera boats that offers premium service.

The first Riviera to be promoted under the new partnership program is the 445 SUV, a popular model with plenty of deck space for the Australian way of boating, joystick manoeuverability and impressive performance.
