Boab licence courses expand

Boab boat hire has further expanded their boat licence courses locations to include North Sydney (NSW), and Redcliffe, Bribie Island, Mooloolaba, Noosa and Hervey Bay (QLD). These hands-on courses will allow customers to then get hold of a boat licence or skippers ticket in their state.

Teaming up with Yachting Australia (YA), Boab boat licence courses consist of an on-water practical and theory session, which covers everything you need to feel safe and confident on the water. The courses allow the trainer to spend more one-on-one time with each individual which creates an enhanced learning environment. All practical training will be onboard one of the company's 2C surveyed hire vessels.

Boab Boat Hire director Paul Gelfius said that the overwhelming feedback from existing customers who had hired their boats and had gained their boat licence elsewhere showed that there wasn’t enough practical training offered: "We see a void in the amount of practical training offered, which is why we teamed up with YA as we believe they offer some of the best on water training courses."

"The success of our initial trials in Wollongong have also shown that this model fits in perfectly with our current boat hire market, while the nature of our training has allowed us to start working on a model that can be introduced at a school level, to get more kids involved with boating."
