Bering launches B80 luxury explorer yacht

The new model slips into Bering’s sub-24-metre steel and aluminium motor yacht range, but at 8.1 metres wide carries one of the widest beams in its class. 

That translates to a huge amount of interior volume, helped by a plumb bow that carries more beam forward when compared with conventional hull designs, giving it an almost performance skiff-style profile from above.

On board is an accommodations deck with four cabins, a saloon deck with a forward master stateroom, an upper deck with accommodations for crew and a top deck dedicated to entertaining.

According to Bering, the B80’s interior is “modern and classical”. 

“Light colours and natural materials, including wood and marble, make the internal space impressive and bigger,” it says. 

“This relaxing and spacious design truly represents the owner’s request for a boat that would serve as a great location to host, accommodate, and entertain visitors with great hospitality and comfort.”

The main deck also features a main galley, a comfortable saloon, and a cockpit with a table for 10 guests. 

A large TV system that lifts and rotates is located outside, blending smoothly with the spacious cockpit.  

The chillout zone with a sunbed at the upper deck’s bow is adjacent to the captain’s quarters and a pilot house. 

The skylounge features a gym, hammam (a traditional Turkish bath), and lounge area. The boat deck aft with the deckchairs can also be used as a tender storage area. 

The flybridge, with a captain’s chair, a large table, two settees with a wet bar, a grill, a TV system and plenty of sunbeds, adds to this deck's relaxing ambiance.

Of note, the Bering 80’s four separate crew quarters are built using the same materials as the guest accommodations.

No details are given on what powers the Bering B80, although the cruising speed is listed as 8.5 knots yielding a range of more than 5000 nautical miles, more than enough range for a 20-day trip to get from Sydney to the edge of Antarctica without needing a top-up.

If you do need to hurry, the top speed is rated at 10.5 knots – this is not a boat to get anywhere quickly. A tender garage can take a RIB up to 5.2 metres in length.

Bering Yachts founder Alexei Mikhailov said the B88 series, which includes the B80, was becoming one of the brand’s most popular models. 

“...It is perfect for a yacht, a bit under 24 meters, but with all the space and luxury that can usually be found in much bigger vessels,” Mikhailov said. 

“With a range of over 5000 nautical miles and 220 tonnes of displacement, B80 is just as capable as pretty.”
