French boatbuilding behemoth Beneteau has revealed its new flagship, the Oceanis Yacht 62, a collaboration between Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design and the Italian designer Pierangelo Andreani.
Expected to be released in 2016, the new production offering is in keeping with European yachting trends to bigger and bigger luxury vessels.
Beneteau says the new flagship with the Oceanis moniker of its popular cruising-yacht range: "offers you the key to a new world – a world apart, in which space, light and design come together in unison to transform life at sea."
Available with three- or four-cabin layouts, the Oceanis Yacht 62 is said to draw on vast boatbuilding expertise to make the inaccessible accessible. We will await pricing before deciding on that.
But Beneteau also owns and builds the semi-custom CNB Yachts from 60-76 feet which also has one-off designs. So we are supposing this Oceanis Yacht 62 borrows on some of that but adds greater production efficiency to get the price down.
With typical French passion, Beneteau says: "Confidentially, this exclusive key will open the door to sharing new magical moments together."
Anyway, the eye-catching lines team sportiness with large windows and an elegant profile.
Beneteau says the new Oceanis Yacht is well-balanced and reassuring to handle, as you would expect.
The hull is chined design with twin rudders and a cruising or performance sail-plan that doesn't hold back. Of course, it will all be push button.
As with most yachts of this magnitude, the aft platform has been designed as a lifestyle waterfront or what Beneteau calls a terrace in the sea.
Down below, from what the artist's impression reveals, it all looks very chic. More news when it comes to hand.
