Now under new Riviera ownership, the Australian-designed luxury marque Belize Motoryachts will make its world boat-show debut at the 2012 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) from May 24-27.
The new Belize 52 Hardtop will join three Rivieras on the display located on F Arm. It's the first time a Belize has been exhibited at a boat show.
“Belize will be distributed through the R Marine and Riviera dealer network nationally and internationally so Belize Motoryachts now come with Riviera’s legendary after-sales care and support, plus invitations to exclusive owner events,” Riviera CEO Wes Moxey said.
“The Belize 52 has already received three orders ‘off the plan’, which is a huge vote of confidence for the Belize Motoryacht brand,” said Moxey, who designed and helped build the boats in Taiwan.
“People knew the Belize 52 was going to be different and special but so far the boat has surpassed all expectations in terms of design, finish and volume. Our clients have said that the internal volume of the boat for its size is just incredible, especially features such as the master stateroom, which runs the full beam of the boat.
“The boat feels very large in scale: the handrails are big and ship-like, the bulwarks and the wide side decks make moving around the exterior of the yacht very easy and comfortable. Everything is well proportioned and feels substantial.
“Then there is the saloon and connection to the large cockpit and all the little design details and different fittings that are a credit to the attention to detail, level of quality and craftsmanship,” Moxey added.
Though inspired by classic luxury details and timeless style, the Belize 52 is thoroughly modern in technology and performance with twin Cummins Zeus 600hp diesel engines and pod drives delivering a speed of 30 knots and a cruising range of approximately 400nm.”
Moxey describes the limited-edition, semi-custom Belize 52 as an elegant 52’10” (16.10 metre) cruiser, engineered with perfection for the boating aficionado who not only appreciates tradition and timeless style (the Belize draws its aesthetic inspiration from the classic European timber-based boats of the Art Deco era), but also the quality assurance that comes inherently with the bespoke craftsmanship process and the latest technology.
Created in two variations (single-level, sports yacht-style Hardtop, and split-level Day Bridge), the stately Belize 52 has a limited production output of just nine boats in the next 12 months growing to a maximum output of 30 per year by 2015.
The luxury-positioned Belize, named after the inspiring Caribbean boating destination, is pitched at a different segment of the luxury boating market -- enthusiasts who have owned various other boats from production to traditional. Even sailboat owners that now want to move into power boating for all of its convenience, but want something different and bespoke to reflect their individual tastes, as well as the latest modern technology have expressed an interest.
“For boat owners who have had two, three or four boats, it’s not actually until you step on board a boat like this that you appreciate the immense experience we have focused into this one boat,” explains Moxey.
