Bavaria goes 'Avantgarde'

Bain International, who some months ago paid Euro 3.5 billion to secure Bavaria Yachtbau, Europe's largest single-boat production facility, builders of the Bavaria Yachts (sail) and Sports (power) gave a hint of exciting things to come at a recent dealer

The first visible signs of change will be seen this spring with the existing range of boats being upgraded with new Highline Avantgarde interiors that have a contemporary Mediterranean/Italian feel, said the Australian importer, Bavaria Sports Boats (BSB).

Part of this, said BSB, will be a superb choice of interior fabrics and even a choice of timber finishes - light mahogany, light oak or walnut - from the Italian based Alpi Group, offering a superbly consistent grain and smooth modern satin finish. Above decks, upholstery comes in a choice of colors with topside stripes offered to match or contrast.

Bavaria is also in the midst of a Euro four million factory expansion to produce a 'fourth line' of production which will allow boats up to 20m to include flybridge and cabriolet models, said the importer.
