Bar Crusher has introduced a new custom boat-trailer range for its adventurous owners who are increasingly heading off on extended fishing trips into some of Australia’s remotest Top End regions.
Using its existing galvanised steel trailers, and after working with Easytow Boat Trailers, the plate-alloy boatbuilder created a new 'NT Tough Upgrade' by strengthening seven key areas.
The checklist includes bracing all cross members with 50 x 5 flat; triple U-bolt winch post base to drawbar; double U-bolt winch post top to base; double U-bolt guard mount to side rails front and rear; bracing centre of steps with 40 x 5 flat; bracing inner steps with 16mm bar; and centre guard bracing with 40 x 6 flat.
Eye-to-eye suspension is also an option on all single-axle and tandem-axle Bar Crusher
trailers if you intend tackling rough roads and Top End tracks. Bar Crushers also adds a few towing tips...
Towing Tips: Lowering tyre pressure, tying down your boat at the back and front, and driving to the conditions will help maintain your rig on the road.
All Bar Crusher boats are factory-packaged on custom-designed galvanised steel or alloy trailers designed to ensure the boat self-levels and aligns every time. Is innovative Bar Catch system also allows for single-handed launch and retrieve.
After years of neglect, Aussie boat builders are finally waking up to the fact boat trailers need to be robust, especially on our back-country roads, and doubly so up in the Top End.
The other driver is that trailers are big business and we're seeing more and more boatbuilders now offering factory rigged boat/motor/trailer combos these days.
