Aluminium fishing boat specialist Bar Crusher is set to make hay in Melbourne’s winter with a full line up of boats at this weekend’s Melbourne Boat Show. Set to open Thursday, June 28, the show traditionally boasts a strong fishing focus and this year seems like no exception.
Bar Crusher is not telegraphing any of its punches in terms of new craft but has promised a strong presence from its popular folding-roof cuddy cabin (C) series right up to the hard-top pilothouse (HTP) models so admired by south coast fishos.
The Bar Crusher range from the 490 through to 615 (which includes a bowrider-style model introduced at last year’s Melbourne show) is now built on the company’s Gen2 hull plate-alloy hull design.

Says Bar Crusher: “This design combines key features including a wider negative chine running forward, optimised wider chine aft and the distinctive Delta Flare – a complex V-shaped planing plank that starts wider at the transom and narrows as it runs forward.”
Larger Bar Crusher models from the 670 through to the flagship 780 continue to be built on the company’s proven high-performance deep-V hull.
Bar Crusher is perhaps best known its Quickflow water ballast technology which the company claims delivers “excellent stability at rest”.
The company has extended an open invitation to boatsales.com.au readers to visit its stand at the Melbourne Boat Show to pick-up a copy of the Bar Crusher’s boat buyer’s guide “to assist with your research”.
