Bar Crusher has introduced its Gen2 hull into more of its popular cuddy cabin (C) boats after the Melbourne-based boatbuilder found the 490C, 535C, 575C and 615C received significant performance benefits from the next-generation hull design. However, the larger 670C will continue to be built on the yard's high-performance deep-vee hull.
Introduced a few years ago, the Gen2 hull has a wider negative chine running forward, optimised wider chine aft, and a distinctive Delta Flare V-shaped planing plank that starts wider at the transom and narrows as it runs forward. Bar Crushers says the bigger chined hull creates more lift, greater efficiency and improved fuel economy, along with a higher bow attitude and better spray deflection for a drier ride.
Game Lock coamings on the 575C, 615C and 670C allow you to securely lock yourself in while fighting big fish, while the narrower gunwale leads to slightly more usable cockpit space.
Meantime, a new bowsprit has been designed for a more secure anchor-locking position and smoother retrieval, while the bow rails and grab rails have been upgraded on some models.
Bar Crusher says its removable livebait tank on the 490C has been well received, as has the fold-down windscreens and bimini tops that reduce air draft by up to a metre, and its Bar Catch that for single-handed launch and retrieve.
