Bar Crusher, the Victorian plate alloy and aluminium fishing boat specialist, has introduced a new filler system to its boats that stops owners from overfilling.
The new “fill-stop” fuel filler, located in the transom step-thorugh area, is part of Bar Crusher’s Safe Tank system.
The fill-stop function prevents owners from over-filling the floor-mounted fuel tank, leaving a space in the tank to accommodate the natural expansion of fuel as the weather warms up.
It will prevent fuel overflow – a common problem for owners who liked to brim their tanks before they head out on the water only to lose a portion of it when it leaks back out due to expansion.
Bar Crusher said the tanks would continue to be built with the in-floor inspection port that allows owners to physically check the amount of fuel in the tank. The port also allows owners to drain bad fuel from the tank.
Bar Crusher builds its fuel tanks into the floor of its boats, which provides greater strength to the structure compared with bilge-mounted ones. It says all fuel hoses and clamps are located above the boat’s fully sealed floor, making them easy to inspect and replace if needed.
It also means fuel cannot leak into the bilge if a hose perishes or a clamp breaks.
