Back Cove 37 sold sight unseen in Australia

The USA crafted Back Cove 37 will be on display at the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show in July

EMarine Australia, the importers of Back Cove and Sabre Motor Yachts for Australia and New Zealand, confirms the sale of a new Back Cove 37, unveiled at the recent Miami International Boat Show, to an existing Back Cove owner who made the purchase sight unseen.

"We are also proud to announce that we have now delivered two Back Cove 29s and one Back Cove 33 to Queensland since Christmas," says Jed Elderkin of EMarine Australia. Peter Byrne, who runs the Queensland Office, reports the new owners are thrilled with their vessels and are receiving admiring looks wherever they go.

Emarine said that the traditional good looks of the Maine built lobster boat style coupled with low maintenance, exceptional build quality and great fuel economy have made these boats a very familiar site on Australian waterways.

The Back Cove 37 is the largest Back Cove to date, following on the success of the 26, 29 and 33 footers. The company has often been asked how big they are going with the range. Naval architecture logic says that planing, single engine boats that like to go more than 20 knots, are limited in LOA to about 37 or 38 feet due to weight and drag factors. And so the design team designed a new model that comes in at 37 feet.

The new 37 has a mid-level galley and a fully enclosed sedan style helm deck. The interior features two private cabins and a shared head with shower stall. Emarine said the exterior offers the same hallmark that the other Back Cove models provide - safe and wide side decks, great deck hardware, a very crew-friendly foredeck and a large cockpit with plenty of seating.

Standard power is a 480hp Cummins QSB diesel engine and the gen-set and air conditioning is supplied as standard. At the helm, two Stidd seats offer comfortable perches for helmsperson and crew.

The first Back Cove (29) was launched in 2003 and to date over 300 Back Coves are in operation around the world.

Back Cove Motor Yachts are distributed in Australia and New Zealand by E Marine Australia.
