B&G releases new sailing instruments

New multi-purpose Triton2 sailing instrument and Triton2 Pilot System Control Pad

B&G's new Triton2 sailing instrument provides sailors with a clear display of key data and, with so-called one-key functionality, can show wind, speed, depth, AIS and B&G’s specialist features such as Sailsteer and Laylines at the press of a button.

The new multipurpose instrument can also be configured to display multiple ‘pages’ of information such as vessel speed, depth, heading, wind speed and direction, depth and AIS data.

Users can quickly switch between pages to access the information using highly-responsive silicon keys designed to make the Triton2 display easy to use with wet or gloved hands in all weather conditions. The display is waterproof to IPX7 standards.

The new Triton2 can also be combined with a pilot system and controller to deliver, says B&G, an outstanding, accurate and reliable sailing autopilot.

EASILY READ
Using Transflective LCD technology, the new B&G instruments are designed to makes use of reflected sunlight where available to provide superior daytime visibility and lower power consumption when compared with traditional backlit-only displays.

Combined with the highly efficient LED backlighting, the Triton2 Display claims to be easily read during the day or night. The LCD panel is optically bonded to the anti-reflective display window, thereby eliminating the possibility of condensation or fogging within the display unit.

First released in 2012, the new Triton2 is clearer, slimmer at just 8mm thin, and is easier to use, while retaining our specialist B&G sailing features. The Triton2 display is compatible with a wide range of instruments, sensors and other NMEA 2000 data sources.

PILOT KEYPAD
B&G also has a new pilot keypad, compatible with a wide range of B&G pilot computers, that is a fully functional autopilot controller featuring Intelligent Sail Steering functionality with compass and wind steering, Smart Manoeuvre controls to tack at the touch of a button, and chartplotter integration to enable waypoint and route navigation.

The Triton2 display and pilot keypad will be available from September 2016 and will be priced at $699 AUD RRP/ $809 NZD RRP (display only), $1299 AUD RRP/ $1509 NZD RRP (depth/speed pack) and $2099 AUD RRP/ $2289 NZD RRP (wind/depth/speed pack). More at www.bandg.com.
