Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson has had his latest toy revamped by Azzura Marine at its state-of-the-art yard in the industrial NSW city of Newcastle.
The impressive 32 metre long catamaran Necker Belle (which was previously Lady Barbaretta) will be sailed 10,000 nautical miles to Branson's Necker Island in the Caribbean when she completes sea trials.
The yacht will be available for charter to Branson's guests on his private island.
The Necker Belle has had a major refit and refurbishment at the Azzura yard: the sailing systems have been upgraded, new sails installed, and a new mast, measuring 38 metres, installed. The yacht now should be able to reach 25 knots under sail.
An extra guest cabin was added within the 14 metre beam of the carbon-fibre yacht.
During the refit, a salt water tower was constructed within the Azzura shed so all the major systems, including engines and generators, could be fully load tested while the yacht was out of the water.
The refit is a continuation of Azzura's growing reputation in the super yacht world for their skill and efficiency.
The interior of Necker Belle was redesigned by AM Interiors, Azzura Marine's interiors division, which recently did the interior design for the acclaimed Hamilton Island Yacht Club.
