Finnish adventure boat maker Axopar has revealed the Axopar 45, its biggest model yet, boasting class-leading running efficiency and power-to-weight ratio.
The new flagship model joins the highly successful Axopar 37, the 28, the new trailerable 24, and the recently unveiled 25 Cross Bow.
The Axopar 45 will come as five different models including the 45 Spyder, 45 T-Top, 45 Sun-Top, 45 Cross Top and 45 XC Cross Cabin.
Powering it will be three outboard engines – 300hp Mercury Verado V8s. The advanced engines will allow owners to tap into Mercury’s Active Trim, theft-deterrent system and Vessel View Mobile, allowing owners to monitor the boat’s health remotely via their smartphone.
Australian Axopar importer Eyachts will bring the new Axopar 45 to Australia as it becomes available.
Eyachts managing director Peter Hronas said the high-end motor yacht maker had become known for its innovative, efficient hull designs that offered a smooth and dry ride at fast cruising speeds.
“After four years on the drawing board, we are very excited to reveal the new Axopar 45 to Australian and Kiwi adventure boaties,” Hronas said.
“Just one highlight is the Sun-Top,” he said. “The Axopar design team spent years testing the aerodynamics like an aircraft wing, shape, weight and just the right amount of flex is examined both on a computer and then on the prototype boats before going into serial production."
According to Axopar, owners will benefit from the extra volume and entertaining space onboard the new 45.
The new model will feature a pair of amidship side-opening platforms that create more deck space around the section of the boat where most of the entertaining will take place.
The Axopar 45’s front lounge accommodation will be standard across all models, and will include full standing headroom in the cabin and the combined shower and washroom – the latter a feature that is included in the Axopar range for the first time.
All 45 models will also feature the gullwing doors introduced on the new-generation Axpoar 37 last year. These upwards-lifting doors maximise the sociable feeling of the front cabin, offering full interaction with the outdoor environment.
The Axopar 45 Cross Cabin will feature a couple of innovative features including dual sliding doors completely enclosing the cockpit from the elements, and a centre sofa and wetbar with a length-adjustable leaning post.
The overall design of the Axopar 45 is immediately identifiable with the rest of the family, featuring a plumb bow, sleek profile, stepped hull, walkaround deck and open aft cockpit space.
The enclosed saloon featured on Cross Cabin models features a trawler-style forward-leaning windscreen and a deep glasshouse offering almost uninterrupted 360-degree views.
Alternatively, the open Spyder model looks long, low and sleek with next to no visual clutter above the topdecks.
Aft cockpit configuration options include a standard open cockpit, an aft-facing sofa, a storage compartment and sun lounge, and a twin-bed sun lounge that is upgradeable with a small toilet compartment.
Despite its length, Axopar still classes the Axopar 45 as an adventure boat. Key to this is the inclusion of a set of roof racks in the options list so owners can transport anything from bikes to stand-up paddleboards and kayaks with them.
Owners will also be able to specify a zero-emissions power bank so the serenity of a remote anchorage does not need to be interrupted by the hum of a generator.
Pricing for the new Axopar 45 is expected to be revealed at the Dusseldorf boat show in Germany in January.
