Aussie buyer snaps up $27m Rosetti superyacht Emocean

Europe-based long-range superyacht Emocean falls into Australian hands via Yachtsmen International

An Australian buyer is the proud new owner of Emocean, a fully customised 38.2-metre steel-hulled Rosetti 38 Explorer built for long-distance cruising.

Queensland-based brokerage Yachtsmen International assisted the buyer via managing director Scott Wellington-Stones. No sale price was announced, although Emocean’s previous owner was asking €16,850,000 ($A27,135,000).

??“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a down-to-earth family to help source the perfect yacht,” Wellington-Stones said.

“The new owners have exciting plans to explore all the wonderful cruising areas of the Mediterranean and Caribbean in coming years.

Emocean is a highly successful charter yacht, a true explorer yacht with a world-class finish,” he said.

The Hydro Tec-designed Emocean was launched in 2021, and named in the 2022 World Superyacht Awards as the best displacement motor yacht below 499 gross tonnes and stretching between 30.0 metres and 44.9 metres in length.

Featuring an interior design by BurdissoCapponi Yacht & Design, it’s a motor yacht made for extended liveaboard comfort, featuring an estimated range of around 5000 nautical miles with a cruising speed fuel burn from the twin 800hp MAN diesels of around 55.0 litres an hour at its 9.0-knot cruising speed.

According to the designer, the owner who commissioned Emocean asked for enhanced interior volume and a fully featured beach club, while also calling for a closable sundeck to suit all weather conditions and a crew area that would provide for a comfortable lifestyle and good working conditions.

The commissioning owner also asked to keep the enclosed area of the beach club tender-free, so the tender’s primary stowage is on the bridge deck aft, with an alternative berth on the bathing platform in calm weather.

This would have needed a sizeable crane that would dominate the bridge deck aft, but clever design has camouflaged the crane and its lowered jib by disguising it as a bar.

According to Yachtsmen International, Emocean’s main saloon is light, breezy and inviting, flooded with natural light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, port and starboard.

Emocean also hosts a formal dining area, a 150-bottle wine cellar, a sky lounge with a bar and large cinema screen.

Accommodations onboard cater for up to 12 guests overnight across five ensuite staterooms.

It said Emocian was currently cruising the Mediterranean “and will continue her charter operations in the Mediterranean and Caribbean”.
