This magnificent scale model of a Grand Banks 46' Classic has been meticulously built by the Bobbin Head Cruising Club's previous Commodore, Gordon Rowe, himself a Grand Banks enthusiast. Gordon invested over 900 painstaking hours on her build, and the attention to detail is outstanding even including charts on the table and curtains.
The Grand Banks model will be auctioned for charity March 13. The Auction will take place at the Bobbin Head Cruising Club, Empire Marinas, Bobbin Head.
The model is presented on its own base encased in perspex and is approximately 80cm long x 50cm high x 25cm wide. This irreplaceable piece of craftsmanship would be perfect in your home, office or boardroom.
The model must sell on the day with all proceeds of the sale to go to Cure Cancer Australia. GB owners are encouraged to dig deep for what is a very worthy cause.
Phone bidding will be available on the day, with the auction to commence at approximately 1430hrs. Pre-registration (for phone bidding) is essential to ensure you are able to make contact during the event. The live auction is expected to attract over 160 people who will be attending the Sail for Cancer event which is also scheduled for that day.
You can register any interest with the Club Treasurer, Mr Barry Jamieson, on 0410 414 634. Barry will then organise for a member of the club to call you prior to the commencement of the bidding. The successful purchaser will be required to give his credit card details to the Treasurer on the day.
Grand Banks Australia says it wishes the Bobbin Head Cruising Club a very successful Annual Sail for Cancer Day and encourages Grand Banks enthusiasts and owners to participate in this commendable cause.
