We’re keen to join Hugo, Emir and Xin in an around the world adventure… Are you?

Ever felt like chucking in your day job and hitting the water? Sydney couple Emir and Xin have done just that – purchasing a Beneteau Oceanis 41.1 Performance and going for a sale… Around the world.

The couple’s journey started in May when they decide to took delivery of their Beneteau and right now they’re sailing in the Mediterranean near Malta. Their plan is to take the boat literally around the globe, following the seasons and the sun to maximise their experience.

According to Beneteau, the couple will sail to Greece in the next few weeks and in November back to Spain and the Canary Islands to join the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers in a westward across the Atlantic to the Caribbean. The ARC regularly attracts over 200 boats.

From there, it’s on to the Americas, the Panama Canal and eventually a voyage across the Pacific to Australia.

Emir started sailing around 2010 and owned a First 20 before the upgrade. Building on his career in the digital advertising, with Xin he’s planning to document the journey via a youtube channel: www.youtube.com/sailinghugo. There’s also Instagram and Facebook channels under the same handle.

Who’s Hugo? We’ll give you one guess…
