The bowrider seating includes flip-down armrests, LED-lit cup holders, speakers and mounting points for an optional collapsible bow awning.
The aft seating running nearly all the way across the stern and it also transforms into a double sunbed. All told, there are comfortable sunbeds for three couples.
If it’s getting a little hot, no worries, between the outboards is a large swim deck with a bench seat, a swim platform with deep tread swim ladder or an optional hydraulic swim platform.
The Aquila has boarding gates in the hull, port and starboard, making for easy access via the dock, too.
ENTERTAINER’S DECK
The Aquila 36 is an outboard-powered sport catamaran, with its beam width carried from its bow to its stern. The boatbuilder claims the deck area is larger than most 55 foot yachts — and without the lean or roll of a monohull.
In the central cockpit, under the expansive hard top (with optional electric sunroof), is a day galley with L-shaped dining area which includes a collapsible pedestal table. The galley also comes fully equipped with a BBQ, fridge and freezer for easy al fresco entertaining or family weekends away.
FAMILY ACCOMMODATION
Two separate companionways each lead down to a cabin with a double bed and ensuite, including a head and shower. With a head height of 1.98m and expansive hull side windows and overhead hatches, you can a feeling of space, light and comfort. Air conditioning is an option.
ON THE WATER
The helm position offers excellent visibility all round, Raymarine electronics and a SmartCraft navigation package for the Mercury outboards, and companion seating for cruising in company. Easy handling and manoeuvrability comes from the wide-set twin engines.
With just 60cm of draft, this catamaran can go places a monohull never could. The Mercury Verado four-stroke outboards achieve well over 30 knots. Of course, speed is dependent on engine selection from 2 x 250hp up to a max of 2 x 350hp.
Built by Sino Eagle Yachts in China, and designed by world renowned J&J designers, with big American dealerships involved, the new Aquila 36 has been thoroughly tank tested and configured for the pleasure-boat market.
The vinylester resin-infused hull and deck reduce weight and, ultimately, fuel bills, while high bridge clearance contributes to a smooth ride, the boatbuilder says.
