The result is a stylish sportsyacht with features you would expect of larger Mediterranean-styled yachts without the European price tag, said Aquabay Yachts.
"We wanted to build the best sportsyacht possible with an emphasis on stylish design and flexible entertaining space. That is why we chose Peter Lowe as naval architect, Identity Marine Interiors for the interior styling, Tom Cooper Marine as the project manager and most importantly, TC Yachts to build it," said Smith.
TC Yachts is a Taiwan-based yachtbuilder with a heritage dating back to the 1910s. Aquabay Yachts said the shipyard has built hundreds of yachts and their track record has made them the elite in one of the world's greatest shipbuilding nations.
Aquabay Yachts said that together with its vision, TC Yachts is moving into semi-production sportsyachts.
The brief was to design the Aquabay 70 to be reminiscent of the Italian motoryachts with great entertaining features.
The Aquabay 70 has walkaround decks, a large saloon with a retractable sunroof, a full bar accessed from the both the saloon and cockpit, while an open galley is located just off the saloon to maximise the entertaining space at deck level.
The Aquabay 70's accommodation can be either four or three cabins plus crew quarters. The owner's cabin includes a private office area as standard.
Perhaps the most striking features, said Aquabay Yachts, are the foredeck's sun lounge and the retractable awning over the cockpit; these provides two distinct entertaining areas. The Aquabay 70 also has a full-size tender garage.
The design of this yacht is matched by safety and strength being built to Bureau Veritas/USL 1E and 2C survey, and has a maximum speed of 29kts.
