Aston Martin has teamed up with submersible company Triton Submarines on Project Neptune, a new venture allowing the adventurous British auto brand to delve deeper into the world of luxury conveyances.
Florida-based Triton itself is no stranger to taking the plunge, as it designs, manufactures and operates submersibles for research, exploration and private superyacht owners.
Project Neptune will harness this diving and operational expertise to create a unique Aston Martin concept that will eventually lead to an exclusive, strictly-limited edition vehicle. As the artists’ impressions reveal hereabouts that vehicle is a vessel.
Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman and his team transformed Triton’s compact three-person LP platform into a futuristic mini sub.
“Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior,” Reichman said. “We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project.”
Patrick Lahey, President of Triton Submarines LLC, said Aston Martin has a passion for technology, engineering and timeless, elegant design.
"From our first interaction, it was apparent that Triton and Aston Martin were natural partners and our complementary values will be realised in this truly exciting project."
Aston Martin’s design and engineering teams have been creating a number of interesting new projects outside the automotive sector to demonstrate their love of innovation, beauty and craftsmanship.
