All the global launches of the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

Several global reveals are expected to steal the show at next week's Sanctuary Cove extravaganza

It’s officially a week out from the gates opening at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. All the boats that will be going on display have already started shuffling into the site ahead of an event that will host more than 100 global, Australian and Queensland debuts.

This year, more than 700 boats and 2500 marine products will fill the SCIBS marina space and among them will be a few special things that we will get to see before anyone else in the world does.

So what new boats have locked in a global debut at this year’s show? Let's run through the exhibitor list and see what they are.

Blue Diamond Tomahawk

Blue Diamond Marine will use the Sanctuary Cove show to launch its Tomahawk single-engined catamaran on the Australian market.

The new model features asymmetric hulls and a water deflector mechanism built into the tunnel to ensure that the engine mounted in the middle of the transom performs just like it would behind a monohull.

Edencraft 255 Formula

Australian Marine Centre will host the global launch of Edencraft’s all-new trailerable model, the 255 Formula.

This first boat will feature twin 400hp Mercury V10 Verado outboard engines; a lockable cabin door; twin live bait tanks; full-length cockpit pockets; two live bait tanks; a dive door; an enclosed anchor well; sliding hardtop windows; a glovebox; lockable hatches; and a stainless steel bow roller.

It’s also built to AMSA survey standards, so it’s ready to make money for its new owner.

Yellowfin Plate

Something we’ve noticed on the new launches list but have absolutely no idea about is an announcement from Yellowfin Plate about … something.

The current range looks pretty complete, so we can’t even speculate on where a new model might fit in – unless it is a completely new concept.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Cora Cat 48

The Yacht Sales Co is the distributor for the Swiss-owned but Thaland-based PMG Shipyard-built catamaran called the Cora Cat 48.

The cruising cat – at 1500 nautical miles it claims to have the longest range for a twin-hulled motor yacht less than 50 feet in length – sits on a hull adopted from the Heliotrope 48 but with many more upgrades including a redesign inside and out, and more features.

This model features what was once claimed to be the largest flybridge deck in its class, fast displacement hulls and high-quality finishes. Built on the same line as Silent Yachts 60, it’s a fully custom boat that can fit the owner’s needs.

Cure 55

Australian cruising catamaran specialist Cure Marine will use Sanctuary Cove to launch its all-new 17.8-metre Cure 55.

Built entirely from carbonfibre, featuring a carbon mast and classed as a performance cruising cat, it uses North Sails 3Di laundry and a high power-to-weight ratio to “cross oceans with speed and comfort”, all while being simple enough to sail short-, or even single-handed.

The standard layout features an owner’s hull to starboard with two guest cabins – one with the option of being fitted with a double bunk – to port.

The Coolum Beach-built Cure 55 features twin outboard helm stations behind a large undercover cockpit, leading to a large saloon deck with a dinette, galley and a weather-protected helm station.

Harbour Classic 40

Traditional designs combine with cutting-edge features to create the Whitehaven Harbour Classic 40.

Using strong retro automotive cues, the 40 features a sleek profile with subtle timber detailing to harken back to a different era of boating.

Inside, though, it’s all about modern amenities for two couples to spend a weekend out on the water in comfort.

It’s not a boat that’s likely to cause pain at the bowser, either, featuring a single 480hp Volvo Penta D6 engine driving the prop via a ZF gearbox, although a higher-performance twin-engine option is available.

Whitehaven also has something else to announce at the show – we’ll have to wait to hear what it is.

Integrity 520 SX Plus

Integrity Motor Yachts will have its new 520 SX Plus on show at Sanctuary Cove. Part of the SX Plus range that features extra enhancements over standard models in the Integrity range.

The 16.2-metre 520 is the flagship of the five-model SX Plus range. Of note, it features a unique tender garage built into the transom and swim deck that lifts up to reveal the void underneath.

Inside, it’s all classy, modern timber finishes in the saloon deck, while downstairs are two staterooms, each with its own bathroom.

A distinctive exterior design with a quite aesthetically pleasing hull window layout will ensure the boat stands out on the water.

Maritimo M600 Offshore, M55 Black Edition

Maritomo is rolling out Black Edition enhancements across a range of models, with the first ones we’ll see to receive the treatment being the M600 Offshore flybridge cruiser and one of its most popular models, the M55 flybridge cruiser.

Black Edition models add a redesigned, larger transom island that separates the main cockpit from the swim platform, and an upgraded lounge and expanded barbecue area.

The design enhancement also adds a lazarette access door alongside a built-in fridge, and a redesigned grill and sink. And a new-look forward-facing cockpit lounge accessed via twin integrated side gates.

Upstairs, Black Edition models add L-shaped seating to the cockpit, a folding table, and a wet bar with a fridge and icemaker. Owners can also select either a sliding or bi-fold door to connect with the aft galley.

Maritimo has also hinted it will show something new at Sanctuary Cove.

Espresso Martini

No, it’s not a cup of coffee. Instead, it’s an all-new floating luxury apartment from specialist Martini Luxury Houseboats.

There’s very little information on what the Espresso Martini is and how it differs from the Classic Martini teased on the builder’s website, so we’ll have to wait until show day to work out what it is.

Palm Beach 85

Palm Beach takes its east-coaster concept and stretches it even further to a new flagship 85. The next-largest model is the Palm Beach 70, a long and low 23.2-metre fast cruiser that’s more sports yacht than show pony.

We’re speculating here, but we reckon the new Palm Beach flagship will share a lot of its DNA with the Grand Banks 85 flybridge cruiser.

Again, it’s a case of wait-and-see.

Riviera mystery model

Sanctuary Cove is luxury motor yacht maker Riviera’s home show, and the company has made something of a reputation of dropping surprise new models on the market, although not in computer renders, but as finished boats already on the water.

To date, a few teaser images have been lobbed online that show that Riviera is about to spring something big on us, although exactly what it is remains a mystery.

There’s not much empty space in Riviera’s current showroom mix, so it could potentially land as an overhaul of an existing model.

Tasman 80

Sports fishing boat specialist Tasman Boats will hit Sanctuary Cove with its all-new Tasman 80. Now, before you get all excited about an 80-foot Viking clone, it’s not – instead, it’s an 8.0-metre, Yanmar diesel-powered trailerable boat built to head out wide and fish.

tasman 80

The boat is built to AMSA survey standards and includes a generous internal freeboard, a big flare in the bow, broad chines and a rough water-friendly 21-degree deadrise at the transom.

Sea trials earlier this year on Port Phillip in a 20-25 knot southwesterly showed the Tasman 80 as an “easily handled, comfortable-riding boat with great stability” – and that’s without fitting the Zipwake trim tabs to the hull.

Even with a slightly over-pitched prop, the Tasman 80 comfortably sat on 25 knots.

A bit of trivia: The twin-blown, intercooled Yanmar 8LV370 (Z) 4.46-litre V8 powering this boat is the same engine as the 200 Series Toyota LandCruiser you buy to tow it.

A 10.0-metre version is in the works.

Vicem 95 Classic

We were first introduced to Turkish motor yacht maker Vicem, pronounced “Vikem”, last year with Leigh-Smith Yachts’s Australian debut of the Vicem 55 Classic.

This year it’s a world premiere of the Vicem 95 Classic, a longer, more svelte and accommodating version of the 55.

Featuring three levels of living, the Vicem 95 Classic is classed as a “gentleman’s cruiser” and features an extended flybridge deck that greatly increases the amount of living space aboard.

Below decks, The Vicem 95 Classic features a full-beam master stateroom with a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom, a VIP double in the bow, and an amidship double and a Pullman stateroom, sleeping up to eight people.
