It’s officially a week out from the gates opening at the 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. All the boats that will be going on display have already started shuffling into the site ahead of an event that will host more than 100 global, Australian and Queensland debuts.
This year, more than 700 boats and 2500 marine products will fill the SCIBS marina space and among them will be a few special things that are lobbing into our part of the world for the first time.
So what new boats have locked in an Asia Pacific debut at this year’s show? Let's run through the exhibitor list and see what they are.
These are the boats that are venturing into our region for the first time.
An all-new baby Boston Whaler dual console was born earlier this year, becoming the cheapest way to jump aboard the iconic US brand.
Measuring just 6.5 metres long, it will sit on a trailer, and more importantly for family duties, the port-side console can be used as a changeroom with a toilet.

The boat is a bowrider, featuring a bow lounge accessed via the dual-console layout and a long list of standard features that lift the comfort level quite high. Engine choices run to a 200hp Mercury V6 outboard that will push the Boston Whaler 210 Vantage to a speed of around 36.0 knots.
Queensland Marine Centre has a number of Boston Whaler debuts at Sanctuary Cove this year including the twin V12-engined Boston Whaler 360 Outrage.
Boston Whaler is getting good at nailing the large fishing/entertaining centre console formula, and this is just one example of getting the balance right.

The 360 Outrage was added to Boston Whaler’s product mix early in 2022, so it’s taken a little bit of time to get here.
Features we like include a comfy 31.0-knot cruising speed from the twin 600hp Mercury V12 Verado engines that power it, a redesigned helm station that looks up there with the best in the business, and improvements to the below-deck accommodations that make it even more user-friendly to stay onboard overnight rather than head home before the sun sets.
We’ve experienced this 12.6-metre flagship split console boat before as a testbed for an all-new autonomous boat system that will one day help skippers work their way on and out of the marina like a pro.

Split consoles such as the Boston Whaler 405 Conquest are growing in popularity as skippers downsize from larger motor yachts into something that’s fast, easy to use and even easier to tie up and leave at the marina at the end of the weekend.
Boston Whaler calls this full-beam pilothouse boat the “SUV of the sea”, more of an all-weather adventure boat with space below decks for two couples to bed down for the night. However, it is just as competent heading offshore fishing as it is nosing into an anchorage for an afternoon of snorkelling.
Featuring a maximum horsepower rating of 1800hp from its quad V8 outboard engine setup, with the option of three 600hp Mercury V12 Verado outboard engines also on the table, the Boston Whaler 405 Conquest is a flagship boat for anyone who owns it.
Windcraft Yachts will have the Hanse 510 performance cruiser on its marina stand this year.
Featuring new looks including a reversed bow shared with the Hanse 508, the emphasis with the Hanse 510 is on ease of use, comfort, and sharp short-handed sailing performance.

Just shy of 16.0 metres in length overall, the Hanse 510 features a huge sail plan and a large below-deck volume via deep chines and a design that carries the maximum beam all the way to the transom.
Thought has also been given to time off the boat, with a tender garage in the lazarette able to swallow a tender up to 2.7 metres long.
If your dream is sailing around the world, the owner’s version of this yacht includes a big master cabin with the option of dressing tables and separate heads and shower compartments.
Queensland Marine Centre is known for having the largest display at Sanctuary Cove, and it’s no different this year with the dealership also showing the ultra-luxurious Harris Grand Mariner 270 tritoon.

Measuring a smidge over 9.0 metres, the Harris Grand Mariner 270 isn’t your normal tool-around party boat. That’s because it can pack up to 450hp to help it get to and from the party zone as fast as possible.
Onboard is a smart helm, plenty of seating – up to 15 people in US specification – an electric raise-and-lower tower, and the ability to use the tritoon for more than just sitting around, as it is as good at watersports and skiing as it is lounging in comfort.
TMG Yachts will have the 14.8-metre Prestige M48 powered catamaran on its stand at the show. It’s the first model to come out of Beneteau’s multihull offshoot featuring a design that is as much about connecting with the environment around the boat as it does looking after the people onboard when they’re inside.

The three-deck design maximises the amount of living space onboard with an emphasis on the outdoors. Meanwhile, the saloon uses the beam of the multihull design to its best advantage to offer more than 6.0 metres of space from side to side of the deep-windowed space.
The space onboard includes a full-beam owner’s cabin forward with a king-size berth.
Queensland Marine Group also has US leisure brand Sea Ray on its books, with a couple of Australian debuts sure to spark interest.
The first of these is the Sea Ray SPX 210 Outboard, an outboard-engined dayboat that’s ideal for family applications.

Measuring a compact 7.3 metres long, making it an ideal size for dry-stacking, the emphasis is on ease of use with plenty of lounge space when anchored up, a big bow lounge, a premium Fusion audio system and icebox storage.
Performance comes from a 250hp Mercury Verado outboard engine – this boat is also available as an inboard-engined sterndrive – with a fully digital dashboard that displays everything from charts to engine performance.
It’s also a good watersports platform, with a locker to store skis and boards.
The other Australian debut is the new Sea Ray SLX 260 Outboard. Sea Ray is a brand you can grow into, with the SLX 260 Outboard the next step up from the SPX 210 Outboard.

The 8.7-metre SLX 260 Outboard is a step up in size, comfort and performance. Awarded the 2024 European Power Boat of the Year, it includes a clever use of space incorporating design elements such as an integrated icebox, premium seating with a focus on ergonomics, and plenty of storage space to pack away gear and items such as inflatable stand-up paddleboards.
Like the SPX 210 Outboard, the SLX 260 Outboard features a fully digital dash connected to the 300hp Mercury Verado outboard engine that powers this boat.
The SLX 260 Outboard also has the option of a large shaded tower that can be enhanced with forward and aft sunshades to protect everyone onboard from the direct sun.
The 2024 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show runs from May 23-26.
