AIMEX is a non-profit, private sector marine organisation representing more than 100 members covering all aspects of the recreational and light commercial boating industry, and the 2009 Directory is seen as the key reference guide for international companies looking to source Australian marine industry equipment and services.
AIMEX chief executive, Mary Anne Edwards, described the Directory as a "Who's Who" of the industry with information on members, their areas of expertise, overviews of the Australian industry and updates on new Australian marine products now available on the world market.
"This glossy colour publication is highly sought after by international marine executives, media and those seeking to do business with Australian companies," said Edwards.
The Directory is endorsed by the Federal Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, Kim Carr, and the Federal Minister for Trade, Simon Crean.
The Australian Marine Export Industry Directory is distributed worldwide through Austrade's global marine network, to national and international government departments, and to key industry groups.
The Australian Marine Export Industry Directory will also be available at leading boat shows attended by AIMEX and its members. In 2009, AIMEX said it will have a presence at a number of international shows including, the Dubai International Boat Show, China International Boat Show, IBEX Miami and METS in Amsterdam.
"AIMEX members span the industry with boat and shipbuilders, construction materials, boat show organisers and government members, hardware and accessories, electronics, engines and propulsion specialists, marina builders and equipment, marine services, sails and rigging experts," Edwards said.
