This week's 2016 Adelaide Boat Show at the Adelaide Showground, Wayville, from Thursday June 30 to Sunday July 3, will feature a spectacular display of latest craft, marine accessories and services.
As the premier annual event of the Boating Industry Association (BIA) in SA, the annual boat show will be a huge floorshow of sparkling new boats, kayaks, jet skis, engines, trailers and accessories, including state-of-the-art communications, safety and fish finding technologies, organisers say.
While promoting the joys of recreational boating and water sports, the show will also be an enjoyable and informative event for fishing enthusiasts with a range of seminars and workshops.
"It is about celebrating the enjoyment that over five million Australians find from recreational time on the water every year," George Bolton, General Manager of the BIA in SA, said.
"The Adelaide Boat Show will demonstrate the affordability, flexibility and accessibility that boating and water sports bring to family lifestyles and the pure pleasure that people find in our marine environment and inland waters.
"For consumers, it is an unrivalled opportunity to compare and buy products at the best prices in a single location with industry leaders available at all times to provide trusted advice.
"The show will appeal to people of all ages and interests – from power to sail, paddle and pedal – whether showgoers are new to boating or experienced in the ways they like to spend time on the water.
"The industry is pleased to be facilitating the old for new life jacket exchange, which we hope will encourage people to enjoy more time on our beautiful coastal and inland waters."
OLD FOR NEW LIFEJACKET DEAL
The BIA will launch a major safety awareness initiative through an old-for-new lifejacket exchange at the 2016 Adelaide Boat Show opening later this week from Thursday June 30 to Sunday July 3.
People attending the show can bring an old lifejacket, regardless of its brand or condition, and trade it in with BIA dealers for a quality new automatically inflatable personal flotation device.
The new ULTRA 150N lifejacket normally retails for $130, but through the BIA trade-in arrangement show visitors will pay only $70.
George Bolton, General Manager SA of the BIA, said the exclusive old-for-new lifejacket program at the Adelaide boat show highlighted that recreational boating was a safe and responsible pastime for Australian families.
"The new multi-fit ULTRA life jackets are suitable for people over 40kg and adjustable to 5XL, and they can be worn in comfort at all times when boating," he said.
"Exchanging of an old life jacket for one of the most modern personal flotation devices on the market will provide reassurance for people while on the water, and it is a great chance to pick up a bargain."
