Absolute 40STL on Sydney Harbour

A 'dayboat with no limits' about to join Luxury Boat Syndicates on Sydney Harbour

Launched for the Italian yard’s 10th anniversary in 2012, the stylish Absolute 40 Sport Line (40STL) is now heading to Luxury Boat Syndicates on Sydney Harbour. This will be boat number six in a fleet of boats ranging from 28-52ft in length.

Described as a boat made for outdoor life without limits, the 40STL is the stand-alone model in the yard’s stylish Sport Line range.  The whole premise behind this boat is to seize the day and where better than on Sydney Harbour?

Boat-share business Luxury Boat Syndicates has optioned-up its new 40STL, which will be on show at Cannes Yachting Festival opening September 8 before being shipped to Sydney for an October ETA in time for summer.

OPTIONED FOR SUMMER
The primary options include: engine upgrade, joystick and bow thruster, full teak decks from bow to stern and throughout the cockpit, generator and air conditioning, hot-water for the showers, Raymarine nav gear, cockpit galley with electric grill and fridge, sunbeds, pull-out bimini and more.

But even in standard guise, the 40STL looks like a real head turner with a lot of focus on the day-boating amenities.

The spacious cockpit has a U-shape sofa and dining table for six, a day galley, plus there’s a pullout cockpit awning for shade, under the wrap-around aft sun lounge. All told, the boat is rated for 10 people.

The day-boating experience is enriched by the second bow sundeck with adjustable backrests and walkaround sidedecks for bow to stern access. There is a large swim platform and a boot for storing watertoys.

Driving pleasure is found at the helm console, which is said to perfectly embody the classical Absolute style, with a special touch of originality in the choice of colours. Two separate, adjustable and wrap-around seats host the pilot and co-pilot, with great attention given to ergonomics, Absolute says.

ENGINE UPGRADE AND ACCOMMODATION

The boat comes with a pair of 300hp D4 Volvo Penta engines or upgraded 330hp D6 engines, both with sterndrives. The 40STL in the Luxury Boat Syndicates’ fleet will have the upgraded engines for 39 knots top speed, we're told, and a bow thruster for docking. The 780 litres of fuel and 190 litres of water should sate the primarily day-boating market.

Below decks, down two large steps, is a dinette, second complete galley, and a bow dining with a sofa that can be converted into the boat’s second double bed. The separate full-beam cabin with wide double bed and spectacular windows is back aft, while the bathroom has a separate shower stall and lots of room for personal effects.

Absolute says its 40STL is ideal for the family on holiday and weekend friends or a group of scuba divers or sportsfishing lovers. That’s the European take. Back in Sydney, this boat is going to function as one cool dayboat flashing by the big-city eateries, cruising the anchorages for lunch, and doing a Saturday night in Middle Harbour.

SHARE THE COSTS
"The Absolute 40 STL was the logical choice for my next wave in syndication. It is absolute luxury and will guarantee to excite by day and provide comfort and amenity by night,"  Ian Rose, principal of Luxury Boat Syndicates, told BoatPoint and boatsales.

"I see her making huge waves on Sydney Harbour and beyond. This boat offers everything you could possibly want in your boating lifestyle," he said.

So what's the bottom line? There are four shares in the 40STL, each costing  $180k for a three-year term, plus $1642 per month for outgoings. The term of the share-boat ownership is three years after which the boat will be sold and the capital redistributed. Two of the four shares are already sold.
