Australian company KT Cables has developed a new trailer plug designed to make towing boats safer.
The invention consists of a trailer plug with an in-built LED circuit tester, incorporating LED technology, designed to detect errors in electric brakes, the emergency break light system, indicators, park lights, and brakes.
“It features a revolutionary three-step wiring body for quick and simple installation, with each wire being colour-coded to industry standards to eliminate errors when wiring up,” KT sales manager Adam Middleton said.
He said the KT LED Trailer Plug ensured safer towing by providing an accurate visual check via six LEDs, which light up to indicate enough power is supplied through each correct circuit and that the power from the source is active through the trailer plug.
“The body of the plug is encased in hardened plastic to protect against damage including water corrosion, closing of pins and knocks while in motion, and features an extra-wide grip for easy removal.”
