A nautical pearl for Portsea

Just the thing for a sundowner

As summer twilights drift into darkness, how better to entertain a mob of your mates at Portsea than with a few G&Ts on the upper deck of your new Dyna 77?

This pocket-sized super yacht will make its first appearance at the Melbourne International Boat and Lifestyle Festival (generally known as the Docklands boat show) early next month and it is already attracting strong interest.

As its name suggests, the Dyna 77 is 23 metres overall and it has three decks of luxury for the lucky owner.

It offers five spacious cabins, all with their own ensuites, giving accommodation for 10 in the owner's party and crew quarters for two.

All the cabins and the public areas have individually controlled air conditioning and there is a flat screen television in each cabin -- along with a Foxtel connection, a DVD player and a stereo music system.

For entertaining, there are two separate outdoor areas and two indoor areas, should the weather turn nasty. Cool drinks will never be a problem as the yacht is equipped with four fridges and a commercial sized icemaker.

The Dyna 77 is powered by twin MTU 1500hp engines giving it a more than adequate cruising speed. For docking there are both bow and stern thrusters as standard, so getting in and out of a tight pen will be no problem.

Priced at just $4 million, the Dyna 77 will be joined by its cheaper sistership, the Dyna 58, at the Docklands show.

The boat and lifestyle festival opens on Friday, February 5, and runs until Sunday, February 7. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children under 16. A family ticket for two adults and three children is $35.
