Maritimo has just handed over a very special M70 cruising motoryacht with more than $1.3 million in optional extras and a $4.5m final price to a fastidious South East Asian owner.
Considered the most sophisticated and high-tech motoryacht that Maritimo has so far produced, Dragon Pearl is a loaded M70 decked out with state-of-the-art satellite navigation and entertainment equipment.
The AV systems, worth a cool $80,000, comprises three Bang and Olufsen televisions including a 55 inch screen in the flybridge.
The owner’s brief was that he must have telephone and television reception no matter where he was in the world, so the M70 has the latest and greatest in comms.
A CHRIS-CRAFT TENDER AND TOYS
Dragon Pear was painted a stunning royal blue and so was her 26 foot Chris-Craft centre console tender, which will be dispatched around the world in advance of the motoryacht arriving at various exotic locations.
The Chris Craft will be transported on her own trailer along with a specially fitted out 40-foot container that will precede the M70 mothership to various ports of call.
The container will be crammed with 'water toys' including two Sea-Doos, two Seabobs, paddleboards, surf boards, kayaks, fishing and diving gear, compressors and other assorted watersports equipment.
250 CUSTOM OPTIONS
Phil Candler, Maritimo's General Manager of Operations, said the company had never produced a bespoke boat of the calibre of Dragon Pearl.
"There were more than 250 custom options included in the vessel and the owner has spared no expense decking it out with the very latest equipment from all over the globe," he said.
The owner, who engaged a full-time captain, chef/hostess and a first mate to crew the boat, had his representatives supervise the manufacture and supervision of Dragon Pearl. A videographer recorded the entire build process from day one to the formal handover ceremony.
LABOUR OF LOVE
Maritimo says its never spent more man-hours on a boat than Dragon Pearl and that its production, design and development teams have done an exceptional job.
Dragon Pearl has aft crew quarters in the lazarette and additional accommodation for crew in the flybridge. It is also equipped with a gyro stabiliser and internally features Maritimo's signature Wenge timber finish throughout.
Mr Candler said the boat will spend the immediate future cruising the Australian coastline, then further afield, but might also be on display at the Singapore International Boat Show in April 2017.
The loaded M70 was sold to the South East Asian businessman by Spencer Ship based in Monaco through one of its affiliated brokers, G Yachts also based in Monaco. More at www.maritimo.com.au.
