2024 Sea-Doo Explorer Pro gains supercharged option
Sea-Doo’s adventure jet ski now comes with extra flat-water pushSea-Doo will offer a supercharged version of the Sea-Doo Explorer Pro adventure ski as part of changes the brand is making across its product range for the new model year.
The Sea-Doo Explorer Pro was previously limited to a 170hp normally aspirated Rotax engine as the only powerplant available. However, the new supercharged option for the Rotax 1630ACE engine lifts performance to 230hp, with the emphasis squarely on the powerplant’s long-range capability.
The extra performance will likely mean the personal watercraft will nudge a top speed of more than 100km/h depending on how much load it is carrying, up from around 90km/h in ideal conditions for the 170hp version.
The Explorer Pro model is still based on the Sea-Doo Fish Pro but includes extra carrying space to quickly attach and detach fuel cans and carry bags, extra protection around the bow section, height-adjusting handlebars that make it easier to stand and ride the ski in rougher conditions, and a snowmobile-like low windscreen to protect the rider from some of the elements.
It was designed to appeal to boaties wanting to switch to something more nimble and to jet ski riders with a sense of adventure.
Adding the extra dollop of performance should prove attractive to more experienced jet ski riders who want to tackle a wider range of offshore conditions as they explore remote coastlines and waterways.
Few details have been released, although the higher-performance version of the Explorer Pro looks to carry over all the features of the normally aspirated version.
No announcement was made about the timing of an Australian arrival or pricing.
