Edencraft has cracked the first hull out of the mould that will soon become the first of its new-generation trailerable deep-vee fibreglass boat, the Edencraft 255 Formula.
The Geelong, Victoria-based boat builder posted a video on social media last week showing hull No.1 of the 7.77-metre model being lifted out of its mould.
The new model is built on top of the US-designed Formula hull but modified for Australian conditions. However, while the hull follows a proven design, the top decks include a hardtop with sliding windows for all-weather protection and a forward cuddy for extending a fishing trip to a weekend.
Of note, the wide, flat dash has room to mount up to four multifunction chartplotters and fishfinders.
Down the back is space to mount what looks like twin 400hp Mercury V10 Verado outboard engines.
"Vibes are high in the factory as the first 255 Formula takes shape,” an Edencraft spokesperson told boatsales.
“Witnessing the craftsmanship of our talented designers and boat builders come to life is truly rewarding.
"The 255 hull has been built upon sixty years of heritage, a proven hull design for performance with a top deck that will scream luxury," he said.
No date has been given for when the first Edencraft 255 Formula is likely to make its official debut.
Standard inclusions on the new model will include a locking door to the cuddy, twin live bait tanks, catch tank, full-length cockpit side pockets, a glovebox, sliding hardtop side windows, lockable hatches and a 600-litre fuel tank.
Buyers will also be able to choose from a range of colours to stamp their ownership on the boat.
