Stabicraft has put the covers on – quite literally – for the launch of its all-new 2050 Treker, a bot it says is for anyone who wants to explore the waterways or head out on an adventure.
Of note, the new runabout model offers the option of a canvas awning that fully encloses helm, and even a diesel heater to make it an all-weather boat capable of extending the boating season beyond just fair weather.
The new 6.3-metre model from the New Zealand-based alloy boat specialist will come in three different packages – Adventure, Sportfish and Profish.
“The Adventure package is ready to get you on the water, with full flexibility to build the Treker to suit your exploration style, including standard fitment features such as blade style secondary seating, and dual transom walkthroughs on both port and starboard,” Stabicraft said.
“The standard transom rigging box has options to add a bait board or live bait tank on top.
“This package is suited to any adventurer seeking to gain the maximum on-water capability in this size class for their budget.”
The Sportfish, meanwhile, includes all the popular features of Stabicraft’s similar-size models.
“It comes standard with a central fish box with dual transom walk-throughs, port and starboard windscreen wipers, elite bolster helm seats with storage seat box, and stage-one belting-up paint in a range of selectable colours.
“The Sportfish package feature set targets a broad range of end users looking for a multi-purpose adventure boat.”
Then there is Profish, Stabicraft’s “top-tier” package for the new 2050 Treker.
“It [the Stabicraft 2050 Treker Profish] suits purchasers that are looking to maximise the available feature set within their chosen boat length and expand the limits of their boating season.
“Its comprehensive canvas offers protection from the elements when it’s cooler out while allowing for folding down and stowing out of the way when the suns out or for storage over winter.
It includes premium suspension seating at the helm, a three-quarter-width fish box for large long-format fish, full EVA flooring for comfort and insulation, closed cell baffling inside each sealed chamber for noise reduction, stage two paint and an extensive list of further upgrades that can be selected.”
The boat features decent cockpit space in between the flotation chambers that form the coamings. Up front, a walkthrough windscreen leads to a two-level bow deck platform that will allow you to stand on the forepeak, or in front of the windscreen.
“The all-new Stabicraft 2050 Treker redefines the way you experience the great outdoors,” Stabicraft said.
“Unparalleled exploration and adventure are taking form in a distinct Stabicraft style, fuelled by a legacy of defiant design evolution.
“While pioneering a completely new feature set for New Zealand and Australian markets, the 2050 Treker aims at one of the most competitive market segments in North America, offering more across legendary Stabicraft fundamentals.”
The new model will take up to 200hp of outboard engine, with no details released on fuel efficiency or cruising and WOT speeds.
Standard features for the range include a powder-coated and glazed cabin with bow walkthrough, footrest, audio system blanks, a helm seat on top of a storage box, two-step boarding ladder, towing eye, anchor locker with hinged lid, EVA foam on coamings, transom and bow deck, 200-litre underfloor fuel tank, hydraulic steering, flour stainless steel rod holders and riveted coaming fenders.
No other details, including pricing, were given. Stabicraft was contacted for comment.
