The ticket booth for the 2023 Melbourne International Boat Show has officially opened, with punters able to head online and snare a ticket for the event’s return to its Docklands location.
Organisers trialled the new-look show at New Quay Prominade, right in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district, for the first time last year, moving to an October date and integrating an on-water display as part of a shake-up of the show’s format.
The show was previously held indoors in June, with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre providing the venue.
Tickets are available here and are free. Exhibitors will display boats from brands including Jeanneau, Chaparral, Cruisers yachts, Polycraft, Robalo, Stejcraft, Bar Crusher, Barletta, Camero, Sea Jay, Sea-Doo, Anglapro, Horizon, Stessl, Formosa, Savage, Campion, GR Pontoon Boats, Stacer, Azimut, Bertram, Monterey, Edencraft, Infiniti, Iron Boats, Parker, Stabicraft, Mastercraft, Malibu, Baysports, Arvor, Offshore Boats, Bennington, Haines Hunter, Cetera, Fiart, Whitley, Quintrex and more.

The show will also feature the latest in marine electronics from brands such as Hydracell, Seakeeper, Sliepner, FLIR and Raymarine, as well as outboard engines from manufacturers such as Honda Marine, Suzuki, Mercury and Yamaha.
Boat trailers will also be on display from Dunbier, which launched an all-new generation trailer at the Sydney boat show.
While visiting the same venue as last year’s event, the 2023 Melbourne Boat Show will expand to take over more waterfront space in Docklands, expanding along Harbour Esplanade.
The extra space means extra exhibits, with the Hooked Up team’s Rig Rundown, a heritage and wooden boat precinct on North Wharf featuring the historic boats – the steamer Wattle and sailboats Enterprize and Alma Doepel, information on marine industry careers for aspiring students and more being added.

The show will also mark the announcement of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria’s Apprentice of the Year award.
Stage displays range through everything from women in fishing to trailer maintenance and how to get into boating hosted by trailer maker Dunbier, the Victorian Fisheries Authority and Maritime Safety Victoria for the very first time.
Similar to last year, tickets to the event are free and those who grab one will be in the running for a major prize of $5000 to spend with one of the exhibitors attending the show.
The 61st Melbourne Boat Show will run from October 26-29. Opening times are from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 26, 10am to 7pm on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, October 29.
