Taiwanese luxury motor yacht brand Horizon has added another powered catamaran to its line-up, sitting just below the flagship of the range.
The new Horizon PC68, unveiled at the 2022 Palm Beach International Boat Show in the US, will offer up to four staterooms in a design stretching across three levels, with plans allowing for either an open saloon or a forward master stateroom taking up the full beam of the twin-hull design.

The new model is also a radical design departure from the existing powered catamaran models – the PC52, PC60, PC65 and the highly custom PC74 flagship – that creates even more living space on board than previous designs.
Key to this is a saloon that features a reversed-overhang windscreen that extends the space much farther forward than on other models.
The helm station-equipped flybridge – owners will have the choice of enclosing it or keeping it open – allows for a Portuguese deck-style lounge on the flybridge deck, and extends fully aft to completely cover the saloon-level cockpit.
“The spacious aft deck hints at the interior volume provided by this model’s 24ft 6in (7.5m) beam, and features an innovative folding stern section allowing for a variety of seating configurations as well as convenient walk-through access to the hi/lo swim platform,” Horizon said.
The Horizon PC68 includes wide side decks leading to the forward cockpit.
“The extended flybridge on this model allows for a variety of layout options while comfortably accommodating a 17ft, 100hp tender,” Horizon said.
“The sky lounge and boat deck comprise plentiful seating and lounging, a day head with shower, BBQ station, chest freezer, and a bar to port with fridge doors and a Scotsman ice maker.
“Forward of the helm, an innovative raised hatch and door accesses the aforementioned Portuguese deck.”
For owners who move the master stateroom from one of the hulls up to the saloon deck, the design features wrap-around windows. Owners will need to descend below the saloon deck to access the master ensuite.
A VIP king suite with an aft ensuite occupies the starboard hull, while on the port side are twin staterooms sharing a central ensuite.
Powering the entire package will be a pair of 850hp MAN engines, providing what Horizon claims will be “quiet, stable and efficient cruising”.
"The power catamaran design is extremely popular among experienced yacht owners who appreciate the comfort, stability and interior volume that the twin-hull design affords, as well as the shallow draft for exploring the idyllic cruising grounds of the Bahamas and Caribbean,” Horizon Power Catamarans chief executive Richard Ford said.
“We are particularly enthusiastic about the new PC68, as it brings to the market next-level design and engineering in a sophisticated and spacious package that will be appreciated by our discerning clientele.”
The Horizon PC68 will have its global debut at the 2023 Horizon Yachts Open House in Taiwan in January next year. The first version of the catamaran will feature an open saloon deck rather than a saloon-level master suite.
