Trailerable fishing and cruising specialist Whittley has revealed its all-new Whittley XS 2000 bowrider, its first model in almost a decade to feature a forward lounge.
The new boat looks a lot like an evolution of the Whittley CW1800, a bowrider fitted with a 200hp Volvo Penta sterndrive and last sold almost a decade ago.
“Designed for the distinctive needs of Australian boating families, the XS 2000 isn’t your standard sports boat,” Whittley said.

“With a big, beamy, surefooted boat package, features a large open bow, moulded bow sprit and unique fibreglass moulded boarding platforms for increased stability at rest.
“The XS 2000 is set to be the only boat an adventurous Australian boating family will ever need.”
The new model has a bow lounge accessed via the split console and an opening in the windscreen. This time around instead of a sterndrive, the Whittley XS 2000 features a Mercury FourStroke outboard engine.
As well as the full-width transom lounge, the Whittley XS 2000 features a fold-down door that provides walk-through access to the swim boards that extend off the transom of the boat on either side of the outboard engine.
The new model will sell for $91,990 drive-away, with standard equipment running to bow and stern stainless steel grab rails and cupholders, navigation and anchor lights, sports seats and steering wheel, glove box, rubber flooring, underfloor ski locker, removable icebox, bow seats with upholstered backrests, a Mackay trailer, a basic marine safety kit, and 12 months registration for both the trailer and boat.
Options include a marine audio system, removable aft cockpit table, bow and cockpit canopies, 12-volt outlets, underwater lights and a Garmin Echomap 6 chartplotter and fishfinder.
Owners who want to configure their boat as a tow sports rig can configure a sports tower with speakers and racks, while the keener fishers can add everything from rocket launchers and sports bimini with clears through to dual battery systems and electric anchor winches.
Whittley will even transport the XS 2000 to the buyer’s nearest capital city as part of the delivery process.
The Whittley XS 2000 is being promoted as an all-around family boat, equally as good at hauling someone around on a sea biscuit as it is hauling in a bag of whiting.
“Fishing from the front or rear of the XS 2000 is easy, with a high freeboard and spacious flat back rear work area and open bow with seating for four holding fishing rods,” Whittley said.
“The boat’s ski locker can easily convert to a large kill tank and the Sports Fish Option Package offers many fishing options in one easy-to-select bundle, making the boat even more appealing to many Australian recreational boaties,” it said.
The Whittley XS 2000 bowrider is available to order online or via Whittley’s network of factory-owned dealerships that now include Western Australia.
