Riviera has revealed a new entry-level motor yacht for its Sport Yacht range, launching the luxury-laden Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition.
The new model, which will make its official global debut at the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show alongside a second new motor yacht that is yet to be revealed, was designed with an emphasis on interior volume, exterior style and bluewater performance.
The new Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is the smallest model in the now four-strong range that includes the 4800 Series II, 5400 and 6000 Sport Yacht Platinum Editions.

Just like its larger siblings, the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition comes with luxury appointments ranging from premium fabrics, high-gloss walnut timber cabinetry, in-vogue lounges and plush carpet underfoot in the staterooms.
A defining feature of the Sport Yacht range is the platinum-coloured hardtop and Targa arch, while the electronic arrays, air vents and boot tops are all finished in black.
The Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition’s flowing lines are a collaboration between Gold Coast-based Riviera and Brisbane-based 4D Designs.
Key to the new model is what Riviera says is an “improved power-to-weight ratio” that helps the new model deliver greater fuel efficiency from the standard 480hp Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 engines – optionally owners can equip the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition with twin 600hp Volvo Penta D8-IPS800 units.
The motor yacht’s new-look profile was designed to create more volume, with the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition offering “a spacious cockpit, luxurious saloon and a generous three-stateroom accommodation deck boasting a full-beam master suite”.
The below-decks space is lit with natural light from large hull windows with opening portholes.
The Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition comes with a large hydraulic swim platform with slides for up to a 3.0-metre tender. A garage with an electrically opening door behind the swim deck and a cockpit hatch – handy for stowing mooring lines or fenders – can house water toys including a 2.7-metre kayak or paddleboard.
Starboard side steps lead up to what Riviera says is an “entertainer’s cockpit” featuring a wrap-around lounge against the transom with an under-seat icebox and storage space, as well as an adjustable-height folding timber dining table that can double as a coffee table.
Tinted glass panels help protect the space from sun and weather, while overhead, two electric sunroofs allow natural light and airflow.
The starboard side of the cockpit houses a barbecue, drawer fridge, ice maker and a sink with hot and cold water.
The cockpit floor incudes a hatch providing access to the engine room.
The saloon space is accessed via a central sliding glass door that sits beside a large awning window to port.
The Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition features a U-shaped aft galley to port with dual cooktops and a combination microwave oven with grill.
The galley includes a 150-litre fridge and 50-litre freezer, as well as a liquor cabinet.
Dominating the saloon space is a large timber dining table framed in a U-shaped lounge that can seat up to six people. Wide-opening side windows and a curved windscreen provide 360-degree views.
Forward of the saloon is the helm featuring twin Alcantara-trimmed sports seats and a wide dash with a height-adjusting steering wheel. The electronics package for the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition includes joystick controls for the Volvo Penta powertrains, twin Garmin Glass Cockpit screens and CZone electrical system management.
Below decks, the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition features a full-beam master suite with an oversize queen-size bed on the motor yacht’s centreline. An en-suite is forward to starboard, a chaise longe and drawers and cupboards is to port, while bedside tables are to each side of the sleeping space.
The VIP suite is located in the bow space and includes an island double bed with overhead storage and large windows letting in natural light. It has an aft bathroom that also serves as the day head when it is not being used as an ensuite.
To port is a cabin featuring Pullman bunks that can be converted to a lower deck lounge with an optional combination washer/dryer.
Power options include an 11kW Kohler genset.
The default engine package with the Riviera 4600 Sport Yacht Platinum Edition is twin 480hp Volvo Penta D6-IPS650s fitted to IPS10 pod drives, with twin 600hp Volvo Penta D8-IPS800 engines fitted to IPS15 pod drives available as an upgrade.
Riviera said the Riviera 4600 Platinum Edition Sport Yacht would make its global premiere at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show that runs from May 19 to 22 as part of a 12-model on-water showcase.
