2022 Maritimo S75 revealed in full

Maritimo S75 drops featuring a showpiece aft adventure deck

The Maritimo S75, an all-new flagshop sedan model that the Gold Coast-based luxury motor yacht teased on the last day of 2021, will make its debut late this year.

The long and low motor yacht – its sleek-looking 23.07-metre long and 6.0-metre wide profile is made better by the absence of the extra deck of the flybridge-topped Maritimo M75 revealed last year – includes the huge aft adventure deck of its three-level sibling.

The new single-level offshore model was teased late last year as one of eight new models that would be joining Maritimo’s growing showroom of luxury motor yachts. It will sit at the top of the S-Series sedan range alongside the S51, and the all-new S55 and S60 that were revealed last year.

Customer input

Maritimo design director Tom Barry-Cotter said the Maritimo S75 drew on the “wealth of feedback” the brand received from its customers, with more than two years of concept development and planning.

“At Maritimo, owner input is something that is constantly used by our Australian design team,” Barry-Cotter said.

“And the S75 sees us creating our most progressive S-Series vessel to date, whilst retaining the Maritimo DNA of long-range efficiency, superb ride, the safety of walkaround decks, and superior quality from construction through to furnishings”.

The Maritimo S75 follows the same design cues as its three-deck sibling, including the portofino-styled aft deck. The S75 features an elongated hardtop extending aft over the upper cockpit, creating an alfresco area in between the saloon and adventure deck.

Seakeeping ability

Similar to its M75 sibling, the S75 will come with extensive seakeeping credentials. The design incorporates 10,000 litres of fuel carried in two wing tanks built around a central tank laid along the keel, as well as a low shaft angle from the pair of 1150hp Scania Di16 diesels driving the five-blade propellors.

For those needing a bit more performance, optional MTU diesel powerplants producing either 1380hp or 1625hp are available.

Room to play

But the highlight of this design is the aft adventure deck.

“The adventure deck delivers the most amazing versatility from storage to lounging, adventuring to cooking, with the wet bar module and its sink, top-loading fridge, and electric grill a real focal point,” Maritimo says.

“The utility cabin is also accessed from here. On either side, there are huge rope lockers, and optional capstan winches can be fitted here as well.”

This space also includes a wet bar, toploading fridge and an electric grill.

Steps go up to the aft cockpit, which can open to the sky via an optional sunroof. Electrically operated breezeway clears can enclose the entire space, protecting it from the weather.

Centrepiece saloon

The surprisingly ungeometric saloon space – the spaces that define zones are distinctly offset from right angles – features a galley with full-size appliances that fronts the aft cockpit.

Maritimo talks up this space as a “significant element” of the S75’s design, with an expanse [of] glazing, combined with low sash height and slim frames, ensuring every sightline is filled with the surrounding seascapes”.

“When added to the optional two-stage vista windows and electric sliding roof it delivers the most engaging and comfortable space amongst the sights, smells and delights of nature, Maritimo says.

“There are dedicated lounging and dining options, including a cruising lounge adjacent to the two pilots’ chairs, and a massive 65-inch screen that reveals itself via electric lift.”

Below decks refinements

The entry to below decks is via a centrally mounted staircase that descends into an atrium that includes a hidden laundry.

Accommodations run to four cabins, with a master stateroom running the full beam amidships.

“Maritimo’s largest-ever panoramic hull windows with opening ports deliver true connection with the sea, and wonderful breezes as well,” it says.

“A king bed occupies the centre of the stateroom, and immediately behind it is a cavernous walk-in robe area with full height, hanging robes, as well as the luxuriously appointed master ensuite.”

A forward guest stateroom incorporates an offset queen-size berth with a private ensuite, while other guests can stay in a side-by-side suite that pouches together to form a double, or an over-under bunk room.

The utility cabin below the aft cockpit can also be optioned up as a crew room with its own ensuite or as a workshop.

Adventure calls

Rather than just be a motor yacht an owner stays aboard, the Maritimo S75 is designed to bring a world of adventure to its owners.

This starts with a lifting floor on the adventure deck that reveals a storage area for water toys, diving gear, sea drones, fishing tackle and more.

The space is large enough that it can store up to a 3.2-metre tender lifted out using a 350kg davit. A tender can also be stored on the adventure deck or on the 1.4-metre lowering swim deck aft.

The design also incorporates access to the hardtop, where everything from stand-up paddleboards to sea kayaks can be stored. Alternatively, a davit provides tender storage.

Maritimo said while the first production Maritimo S75 is due at the end of this year, preorders for the new sedan flagship have already stretched out into 2025.
