2022 Maritimo S60 motor yacht revealed

Stunning new motor yacht to join Maritimo’s growing family of long-range cruising motor yachts

Maritimo has unveiled its sixth new model for 2021, revealing the stunning new Maritimo S60 sedan motor yacht ahead of the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Due to roll off Maritimo’s Gold Coast production line midway through next year, the new 18.5-metre sedan will slot in under the flagship Maritimo S70, and above the S51 and S55 in the S-Series hierarchy.

The Maritimo S55, first teased in late 2020, had its global debut at the 2021 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show alongside the reveal of the new Maritimo M600 flybridge and S600 sedan models featuring extended cockpits.

Maritimo design director Tom Barry-Cotter said the new Maritimo S60 catered to global demand for larger vessels.

“The response to our new models from our customers this year has been astounding and we expect the new S60 to see that momentum continue,” he said.

S-Series lines

The Maritimo S60’s flowing single-level design stays true to the new focus brought in by the M55 and S55, with the only visible nod to its extended waterline coming from an extended saloon pillar that runs further aft than the smaller motor yacht.

The sleek design creates bias towards the aft section of the Maritimo M60, something that prospective customers asked for.

“The feedback from our global network of owners had shown us that our customers really enjoy the protection and connection with the environment from the cockpit and platform zones, and once anchored up, that is where we are spending most of our time at anchor,” Barry-Cotter said.

The large adventure deck floor serves a dual purpose, opening up to reveal an aft lazarette and garage that is the largest on any Maritimo model to date.

The fully lined space can store up to  3.2-metre tender or even a jet ski if a 350kg davit is fitted. Similar to the S55, the Maritimo S60 also allows owners to store a tender on the saloon hardtop, leaving the garage to store any number of water toys, kayaks or stand-up paddleboards.

Living spaces

The aft adventure deck backs onto an upper cockpit featuring up to three separate lounges including a standard U-shaped dining space for up to six people.

Internally, the Maritimo S60's sedan interior is the same as that of the M55. That means the Maritimo S60’s galley splits the divide between the cockpit and the saloon space.

Forward, the saloon space is integrated with the helm, with plenty of glass bringing the outdoors inside. The Maritimo S60 also has the option of integrating two-stage sliding windows to open the space even more.

Below, the accommodation branches off a companionway laundry. Forward is an offset queen-size stateroom built into the bow, featuring no steps and its own ensuite.

To starboard of the stairway is a twin single stateroom, which has the option of allowing the inside bed to slide out and form a double bed.

Aft of that is a king-size master suite that takes full advantage of the Maritimo S60’s 5.2-metre beam.

The space features deep panoramic windows and a full ensuite.

Made for cruising

The new Maritimo S60 measures 18.53 metres LOA and features a variable deadrise hull with a deep keel, a sharp bow entry and a flattened progression aft to optimise its long-range cruising performance, and a shallow 1.35-metre draft, meaning it can sneak into shallow anchorages.

Driving the shallow 8.0-degree shafts are either a pair of 800hp Volvo Penta D13 engines, with the option to increase performance to 1000hp Volvo Penta or CAT Power units.

A pair of 1150hp Scania engines will also be available for those wanting more straight-line performance out of the hull.

Cruising range will come from 4550 litres of fuel spread across three tanks, with two hull-mounted wing tanks feeding into a central tank built along the Maritimo S60’s keel line.

Similar to the M55 and S55 that preceded it, the Maritimo S60 will be able to fill its tanks from a single side.

The launch of the Maritimo S60 motor yacht is likely to coincide with the 2022 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, which is scheduled to be held from May 19-22.

Maritimo will have the US debut of its S55 and M55, launched in Australia last year, at the 2021 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 27.

Maritimo announced late last year that it would have eight new or updated model reveals during 2021.
