French power and sailboat brand Jeanneau has resurrected its DB luxury day boat line with an all-new model updated for the modern era and named the DB/43.
Built with a plumb bow and generous freeboard to create a high-volume interior, the Jeanneau DB/43 combines what Jeanneau claims are the brand’s ease of handling and liveability with “an exclusive style and polished finish with an unparalleled capacity for entertaining”.

The Jeanneau DB/43’s designer, Camillo Garroni, said the DB/43’s design inspiration was drawn from the automotive world, borrowing “the soft curves and extended lines of sporty British and Italian models”.
“The DB/43 features a number of unique characteristics, both clever and subtle, aboard inboard and outboard versions,” Garroni said.
“They enable this model to meet the expectations of boaters seeking a very open boat with a distinctive character, while also offering comfort onboard and solid, seaworthy qualities.
“Benefiting from these strengths and all of Jeanneau’s savoir-faire, the DB/43 demonstrates power, elegance, and harmony, setting a new milestone in this segment.”
Garroni Design was also responsible for the first prestige models introduced to the Jeanneau powerboat range in the early 1990s.
Key to the Jeanneau DB/43’s design is an aft cockpit that runs across the boat’s full internal beam, made more spacious via drop-down coamings and a fold-down transom – even on outboard-engined models – that greatly increase the amount of above-water living space. The DB/43 also includes a walkaround deck with a forward sunbed.
Below decks, the Jeanneau DB/43 is equipped with a small galley, a forward head with a shower, and two sleeping zones – a double berth in the bow and another aft with room for three people.
Owners have the option of replacing the galley with a second head.
Up top, the helm station features seating for three, while forward-facing cockpit seating ensures everyone on board can face forward while underway.
Aft of the helm is a large dinette covered by the hardtop that runs to the full beam of the Jeanneau DB/43, while beyond that is a large aft-facing sunbed framed by the drop-down transom. The sunbed is larger on inboard models than it is on outboard models.
In terms of performance, inboard versions of the Jeanneau DB/43 are powered using twin Volvo Penta D6-380 engines with a joystick controller to make low-speed moves much easier, while outboard-powered models use three 350hp units.
“Reactive, powerful, and stable, the DB/43 proves very safe and easy to handle, all while proving a pleasure to drive, able to match its powerful, elongated lines,” Jeanneau said.
Jeanneau has not built a DB-badged model since the late 1980s.
No mention was made of when the Jeanneau DB/43 was likely to make its global debut.
