The largest, most extravagant Axopar model yet – the Axopar 45 – has finally hit the water after making its virtual debut last year.
Announced in 2021 and shown as a concept, this is the first time we will get a real-world look at the long-range luxury dayboat in its flagship XC Cross Cabin configuration.
“The innovative Axopar 45 is not your typical recreational boat and is unlike anything previously launched by the company or its competitors,” Axopar said in a statement announcing the reveal date.
“With a completely new multifunctional and modular concept for a boat in this size, the Axopar 45 is setting a new genre for fast commuting – in abundant comfort and style.
“The first 45 ft. walk-around boat, equipped with a fully enclosed cabin and outboard
engines, enables owners to speed from jetty to open water in a flash.”
Axopar hopes the Axopar 45 will appeal to buyers looking to “rightsize”, the name given to the trend for owners of everything from luxury cars to overtly large houses to sell up and buy something smaller and more in line with their lifestyle and needs.
“Predicting a shift in the future of boating where “rightsizing” will become more evident in the buying decision, the new range provides an excellent alternative to bigger and more expensive yachts as the 45 range boasts a yacht’s luxuries and handling without the price tag or maintenance commitment,” it says.
Axopar claims the 13.7-metre 45 will be one of the most fuel-efficient boats of its size, using triple 300hp Mercury Verado V8 engines to give the sleek and long hull a 45-knot top speed. Cruising speeds are expected to range between 19 and 35 knots.
Instead of a helm, the Axopar 45 is equipped with what Axopar is labelling the “steering module” that includes all the controls for the bow thruster, trim tabs and audio system. An array of Simrad electronics featuring a bespoke Axopar user interface is in front of the helm seat to help with navigation.
This version of the Axopar 45 includes the gullwing doors over the forward stateroom that connect the boat’s interior directly with the outside.
The main cabin also includes an adjustable wet bar – we’re not told what can be adjusted – and a table to make the space more flexible. Overhead are sliding canvas sunroofs, while double sliding doors allow for airflow to cross.
Amidships, the Axopar 45 is optimised for loading and unloading passengers with doors built into the coamings.
Of course, it would not be a high-end luxury day boat without a few optional extras to sweeten the experience.
“The cabin’s wet bar with fridge, sink, storage compartment and optional cooktop are conducive for lingering lunches and sunset aperitivos, while the electric foldable front windlass ensures the deck has a sleek and uncluttered look,” Axopar says.
“Thanks to a panoramic window, those who opt for an aft cabin wake up to postcard views. They can also benefit from a wardrobe or an optional second toilet.
“Finally, the optional gyro stabiliser will reduce the rolling motion of the boat, significantly improving comfort onboard, and the optional zero-emission power bank will enable wider use of electronics.”
The Axopar 45 XC Cross Cabin has launched alongside the Brabus Shadow 300 and the Brabus Shadow 900 Deep Blue models.
Australian Axopar importer Eyachts said it would bring the new Axopar 45 to Australia as it becomes available.
