2021 Princess X80 revealed

Second ‘superfly’ model joins the British motor yacht brand’s X-Class family

British luxury motor yacht maker Princess has revealed its all-new Princess X80, the second member of its growing X-Class “superfly” family.

Similar to its larger Princess X95 sibling, the four-deck Princess X80 includes the super flybridge, an extended upper deck that increases the amount of space by almost a third and features a combination of practical outdoors and versatile interior space.

“The X80 follows the X95's open-living approach, defined by large distinctive spaces which flow into one another to offer the most versatile and accommodating experience, while keeping all the classic Princess characteristics of quality in craftsmanship and materials, placing design and style at the forefront,” Princess said.

“The X80 layout is defined by large, adaptable spaces that can be used and formatted in a variety of ways, offering the owner and guests a uniquely flexible boating lifestyle.

“Spatial layout is highly practical and user friendly, offering the perfect use of all onboard spaces for entertaining and hosting, for example with a large informal dining area on the main deck or alternatively the option of a dining area in the Sky Lounge.”

Princess Yachts executive chairman Antony Sheriff said the motor yacht maker had taken the successful Princess X95’s formula and wrapped it inside a smaller package.

“Princess’s leading British craftsmanship is yet again obvious in the X80 and she clearly shows that we continue to push the boundaries of yacht design for everyone on board, successfully offering the best standard of life on board for any yacht her size,” he said.

Similar to the Princess X95, the Princess X80 can fully enclose its pantograph door-equipped pilothouse via sliding doors, with a captain’s chair and optional navigator’s seat.

The expanded Sky Lounge flybridge is equipped with a high-quality Naim audio system and can come fitted out with a large sofa opposite a hand-crafted sideboard with hidden TV, or as a dining area for up to eight people complete with wet bar.

Princess says the main deck saloon is open right from the cockpit to the steeply sloped front window and bathed in natural light. It includes a day head and galley, as well as two large sofas. Forward is a formal dining area, with a floor-to-ceiling window on one side.

The forward dining area can be optioned as a full-beam master suite if requested, which will include a private sundeck.

Guests are accommodated via four ensuite cabins, with the full-beam master stateroom located amidships. There’s also a forward stateroom, double guest and a twin cabin with sliding berths.

The Princess X80 can also accommodate three crew aft of the main accommodations, which can expand to five if requested.

For anyone who wants to explore new waters far beyond their home port, the Princess X80 can come with optional 8000-litre fuel tanks when paired with the powerful MAN diesels that will power it.

The big V12s will come with either 1650hp or 1900hp, with the latter providing a top speed of up to 31 knots.

“Princess’ pioneering deep-V hull design developed with world-renowned naval architects Olesinski, forms the foundation to this unique performance, ensuring the highest levels of seakeeping and predictable handling, for which Princess is renowned,” it says.

“Comfort is achieved when stationary and underway thanks to the optional addition of fin or gyro stabilisation.”

The Princess X80 is expected to launch later in 2021.
