Horizon has added another model to its longstanding E-Series cruising family, launching the Horizon E81 into the now eight model strong line-up.
The Taiwanese sports yacht maker’s new model includes a beamy, high-performance hull aimed at buyers more inclined to own a fast, comfortable yacht featuring traditional lines.

Measuring more than six metres across its hull, the Horizon E81 features up to four staterooms and a traditional E-Series superstructure that includes the option of either an all-weather enclosed or more exposed open hard-topped flybridge with a dual helm station.
“As is the case with many of Horizon’s new yacht models, the custom E81 was born from the requests of her experienced owners, who were looking to move up from their current yacht and approached Horizon to design a spacious vessel that suited their cruising lifestyle,” Horizon said in a statement.
The first boat, destined for a US buyer, includes a bespoke space to house a sculpture, as well as space above the master suite’s headboard for separate artwork.
Forward of the amidships master, two guest staterooms to port and starboard comprise a bunk room and a convertible twin, while a spacious VIP occupies the bow area.
Horizon Yacht USA director Roger Sowerbutts said today’s yacht owners appreciated interior volume and deck space.
“With the E81, we’ve taken the sleek, ever-popular E-Series profile and given her a beamy hull that accommodates a wide range of engine options while not compromising on performance or draft.”
The first boat is fitted with twin 1600hp Cat C32-A inboard engines, with onboard power coming via twin 29kW Onan generators.
Low-speed docking is assisted via remote-controlled bow and stern thrusters, with stability at rest and speed enhanced via Zero Speed stabilisers.
Horizon said a Sea Recovery watermaker could supply the Horizon E81 with more than 3400 litres a day.
The first Horizon E81 will feature four staterooms with extra space for two live-aboard crew.
