This year’s SCIBS is expected to host more than 600 boats shown by around 300 exhibitors, with estimates of around 45,000 people attending.

Wide audience

SCIBS general manager Johan Hasser said the show was an event that catered to a wide audience with diverse interests.

“SCIBS gathers the best in marine innovation from both a local and international perspective, but we are so much more than just a boat show,” Hasser said.

“Each year our team strives to create a memorable four days of live music and entertainment, gourmet food and drink offerings and enticing activations the entire family can partake in, all of which play part in the quintessential marine lifestyle.”

The event will also have hands-on entertainment including fishing masterclasses and competitions, workshops and cooking demonstrations.

There will even be a separate children’s zone with face painting, a jumping castle, and more.

Once again, there will be helicopter rides to and from Sanctuary Cove for the more upwardly mobile showgoers, and free park and ride service from Warner Bros Movie World.

Boat owners accessing the show via the water can anchor up on the Coomera River and catch a ride to the jetty with marine rescue volunteers for a gold coin donation.
