Organisers behind the 2020 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show have bowed to the inevitable, announcing the May event will not go ahead as planned in response to the growing coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, the 2020 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will move to a new date later in the year.

The show's organisers, Mulpha Australia Limited, said the decision came "in light of the continued escalation of Covid-19 cases and government directives on gatherings of more than 500 people".
The postponement comes only 10 weeks ahead of the largest boat show in the southern hemisphere opening its doors to the public. The event had already started selling tickets online before the true extent of the coronavirus pandemic became evident.
"The health and safety of our teams, exhibitors and event attendees are the number one priority, and our team will endeavour to ensure minimal disruption to all those invested in this year’s show," organisers said.
The postponement will upset the plans of several boat brands with plans to launch important new products in Australia, including local luxury brands Riviera and Maritimo, and importers such as Ocean Alexander Australia and The Multihull Group.
The show's organisers said they would be "working closely with exhibitors and stakeholders to safely deliver another world-class event at a later date.
"We thank everyone for their support and understanding during this unprecedented time," it said.
The BIA will meet on Wednesday to discuss the running of the Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane boat shows scheduled for later this year.
