2020 Sailfish 3200 Platinum Sports revealed

The new boat was to have been the aluminium plate specialist’s star of the 2020 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Australia's biggest marine showcase, which was to have been held next month. Instead, the show now aims to run later in the year.

“This new design has all the elements to become the ultimate rig for extended cruising and sports fishing with all the creature comforts for a small family live-aboard, but with an alter ego as a true offshore adventurer,” Sailfish said in a statement announcing the new model.

“Nothing beats the aquatic magic carpet ride of a catamaran, nor the spaciousness and stability.

“When it’s time to put the pedal to the metal the Sailfish 3200 Platinum will get you to the hot spot quickly and comfortably, but even more importantly has the trusted seaworthiness to get you, your friends and loved ones home safely.”

Helping prop up those claims is the 2020 Sailfish 3200 Platinum Sports’ performance, with power coming from twin 300hp Yamaha F300 4.2-litre four-stroke V6 outboard engines providing what the Ballina boat-maker says is “gutsy performance and enormous fuel efficiencies”.

It’s also meant to be more comfortable for those onboard.

“The comfort levels are through the roof with exceptional ergonomics, finesse finishes and an array of options and accessories to suit every taste the Sailfish 3200 Platinum may well be your next nautical freedom machine,” Sailfish says.

Features on the 2020-build boat include air conditioning, a generator set, hot and cold water, TV, shore power, a separate berth with a step-down toilet/shower unit, solar charging, Seadek flooring, a galley with dual gas hobs, microwave and upright refrigerator, convertible dinette, and an “alfresco-style” rear cabin opening window with an outdoor barbecue servery unit.

The cabin on the 2020 Sailfish 3200 Platinum Sports is lockable, and the “enormous” open deck includes “all the features of a modern sports fishing assault weapon, yet an inviting character for cruising comfort”.

First deliveries of the 2020 Sailfish 3200 Platinum Sports will roll out of the factory in June, with prices expected to start from around $390,000.
