Sydney-based distributor Nautilus Australia has added the new Parker 920 Explorer MAX to its line-up, featuring a boat that’s as comfortable running wide to chase bluefin tuna as it is anchoring up to entertain friends.
The 9.2-metre Parker 920 Explorer MAX is one of the newest boats to join the British brand’s expanding product line. Parker says the new model, featuring one of the largest cockpit spaces in its size range, offers “all the mod-cons plus uncompromisingly competent all-sea-state characteristics, making it an outstanding choice for people looking for the perfect balance between a family cruiser and go-anywhere recreational boat”.

“Her external lines are characterised by striking looks, sportsfisher styling, vertical bow and a two-step hull manufactured using the infusion process, which means a hull with higher stiffness at lower weight and lower drag, which significantly reduces fuel consumption and allows her to run flat and fast,” Parker says.
The Parker 920 Explorer MAX features a 5.3-square-metre aft cockpit behind an enclosed pilothouse. The cockpit features modular seating, twin tables and a 150-litre icebox. The seating and tables remove to create more fishing space
The transom is optimised for backing up on fish, featuring a wartertight access door to starboard leading to an aft swim deck with boarding ladder.
The walkaround pilothouse provides access to a double-bed sun pad with reclining backrests.

Inside, the pilothouse features a dinette with seating for four and a convertible seat that folds across to become a navigator chair.
Natural airflow comes via sliding windows fitted with curtains for privacy and protection, and a sunroof.
Parker says the starboard helm provides an unimpeded view for the skipper.
The Parker 920 Explorer MAX features overnight accommodation accessed via a smoked glass sliding door, with an offset double bed in the bow and a single bed to port.
There is also a shared wet head.
The saloon dinette also converts into a double bed.

Performance comes from either a single 450hp outboard engine or twin 225hp outboard engines. Top speed from the twin-stepped hull is rated at 55 knots – impressive for a boat this size.
Nautilus Australia said an innovative and unique feature of the Parker 920 that was “well suited to the Australian boat lifestyle” was an optional panoramic folding roof that can cover the entire saloon.
“The Parker 920 Explorer MAX is a decent-sized boat with plenty of space, great layout, heaps of power and all at a great price,” Nautilus Australia co-director Dmitriy Dubs said.
“They are known as ‘big small boats’ because of their spacious cockpits, clever convertible seating and myriad features that make them the perfect boat for a day, or a weekend on the water.

“We’re sure the Parker 920 Explorer MAX will really impress Aussie boaties looking for a lot of features in a compact cruiser,” he said.
“Most importantly, we aim to deliver the best all-round boating experience for our customers so that every part of the ownership experience is enjoyable.”
Pricing for the Parker 920 Explorer MAX is expected to come in at more than $250,000.
