2020 Longreef 90SX hits production milestone

Hull No.1 of the Longreef 90SX prepares for fit-out, with hull No.2 due for a 2021 delivery to its Australian owner

Australian motor yacht maker Longreef has teased a first look at its all-new Longreef 90SX, currently in build and due to be delivered to an Australian customer later this year.

The Longreef 90SX is the first of two of the flagship luxury motor yachts currently in build, with the other boat due to hand over to its new Australian owner in 2021.

Hull No.1 has recently hit an important stage in the build process, rolling out of the factory for fit-out.

"The second Longreef 90 in build has already been named One Goat by her owners," Longreef Yachts chief executive Andy Young said. "The other remains code-named LR3 90 while we await [the] owners' decision [on a name]."

The Longreef 60 is the amalgam of the feedback from more than 400 luxury boat owners who may one day step aboard their own version of the luxury flagship.

"We spent hundreds of hours with prospective clients for this model asking what they expect to receive, how they intend to utilise their boat and the on-board systems they require," Young said.

"She brings together a refined, functional space and the grandeur of a yacht that truly represents the best value in her class."

Below decks, the Longreef 90 offers four cabins with ensuite bathrooms.

The base design includes a full-beam stateroom with a king-size bed located amidships, paired with a full-beam his-and-hers bathroom.

Longreef said the shower screen glass and entire bathroom, from port to starboard, would be instantly frosted at the touch of a button.

The other two cabins can be fitted out with twin beds that slide together to create a queen double.

A boat this big needs a crew, and the Longreef 90 will have a crew quarters aft of the engine room, accessed by a watertight transom door opening onto the swim deck. It contains a double and a single bed, bathroom, and a galley large enough to prepare meals for everyone on board.

The Longreef 90’s forward deck has a twin sunbed and a dining area with a table and wrap-around seating.

The Longreef 90’s flybridge, which includes a forward helm, is accessed via a cockpit staircase, is divided between a protected area under a large sunroof aft, and an open area forward.

The flybridge covers the cockpit below, which opens up through tri-fold doors to the main saloon with large windows – a Longreef signature.

Longreef said the 90’s galley would come equipped with a full range of Australian-sourced Miele appliances, Samsung fridge, large pop-up TV, wine storage rack and a wine chiller.
