2020 Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II plans Australian arrival

Changes made to the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II make it an even more versatile weekender

Jeanneau’s weekend adventure boat with a roof rack, the outboard engine-powered Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795, has relaunched with its biggest upgrade in five years.

The Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II is the successor to the original model, and features a new hull that is now rated to take up to 250hp, up from the 200hp rating of the original model.

It looks different up the front, too, with a higher bow to increase the volume inside.

Jeanneau has taken the best of the design of the original Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 and upgraded it with some handy features.

Easy jetty access

One of the more clever updates is a gate built into the starboard coaming that not only makes it easier to board while tied up, but it also acts as a step to help with access on taller jetties.

The cockpit space also features a flip-up seat to port that can fold away to create more space when fishing, and with space below to store an icebox. The cockpit table can drop down to create a daybed.

It may not sound like much, but the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II has increased its length by 12cm, and all of it has ended up in the interior.

More storage

The boat still has its modular interior, but the saloon now has a large storage space below the forward seat (it convert into a forward-facing co-pilot’s seat) that can stow the cushions used to convert the dinette into a daybed or single berth.

The helm seat flips forward when not in use to give more room to the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II’s galley featuring a double sink and freshwater system, and in European trim an optional LPG stove.

The helm and pilot seat also gains air vents mounted above the windscreen that provide extra airflow to the saloon space while cruising.

European models also feature an optional enclosed marine head with shower.

Strong seller

The Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 has been a strong seller for the French power and sailboat brand since its launch five years ago. The Series I model has sold so well it has doubled the number of sales of the boat it replaced in Jeanneau’s showroom, the Merry Fisher 755.

Australian-delivery versions of the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II are expected to include Jeanneau’s Premium Pack, a 175hp four-stroke outboard engine with stainless steel propeller, and batteries.

The Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II will be available in Australia from about November and priced from $138,000.

Upgrades are likely to include outboard engines up to 250hp, trailer and a choice of chartplotter electronics.

The Jeanneau Merry Fisher 795 Series II will join the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 605 Series II, a more compact version of the 795 that is priced from $85,000.
