2020 Fairline F//Line 33 makes Australian debut

The Fairline F//Line 33, the first of Fairline’s new luxury day boat range, lands in Australia

Fairline’s fastest boat yet, the Fairline F//Line 33, has arrived in Australia ahead of what was to be its 2020 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show reveal.

With the show postponed for a date yet to be announced, the British luxury yacht-maker’s F//Line 33 – the first of a new line of sub-12 metre day boats, is now available for inspection at One Bokerage’s Sydney dealership at d’Albora Marina, Spit Bridge.

The Sydney boat is one of the hulls built for Fairline’s European global launch of the new 10-metre Fairline F//Line 33, meaning it has come here richly equipped.

One Brokerage dealer principal Glen Moltoni said this was Fairline’s first move into the smaller boat market, with the F//Line 33 being a “real winner straight out of the blocks”.

“International orders have been strong for it,” Moltoni said. “We committed to having one out for the Australian market… it’s a hell of a lot of fun to whip around in.”

The 10-metre Fairline F//Line 33 is a pure day boat, featuring a forward cabin should owners decide that the day should not end at sundown.

“The US and also the European markets are following a big push towards smaller day boats, or ‘go-fast’ boats as some people refer to them as,” Moltoni said.

“We’ve found it ourselves,” he said. “We’ve had owners move up through the Fairline range, and peaked at 60 to 70 feet [in length].

“ They’ve come back and since bought 30-foot centre consoles with triple engines on them or 40-foot centre consoles with triple engines on the back of them.

“They race around on that and have a light lunch and bits and pieces, go swimming, and they don’t have the headache of a big boat, they just go and have fun and then put it away.”

He said the big advantage of the Fairline F//Line 33 was that it shortened the time it took owners to get out on the water, and get off the water when they returned to the dockside.

“Across the board, as people become more and more time-poor and they just want to go out swimming for a few hours as a morning activity, they can do that on this boat. There’s just been this push into the smaller boat market.”

Moltoni said the Alberto Mancini-designed Fairline F//Line 33 also would suit couples before they had children, as well as those downsizing once the family had grown up and moved on.

“It [the Fairline F//Line 33] is a day boat, but one with the design, style and fit and finish that you’d expect from one of the British brands like Fairline,” he said.

The first Australian boat is fitted with twin 6.2-litre Volvo Penta V8-430 inboard engines equipped with the engine maker’s joystick control system to help with low-speed maneuvers.

It’s also fully loaded, including optional airconditioning powered using a bank of lithium-ion batteries so it runs silently, saloon LED TV with Apple TV, a hydraulic swim platform, teak exterior and oak interior highlights, a cockpit bar with ice-maker and hob, underwater lights, a bow thruster, freshwater deck wash, a removable carbon fibre transom shower, a full dinner service with stainless steel cutlery and, of course, Fairline-monogrammed tumblers.

As presented, the show boat would normally sell north of $900,000 compared with a base-model price that starts from around $750,000. Moltoni said even though the Sanctuary Cove show was currently postponed, One Brokerage would still sell the boat as a show special.

“We’ll still offering it at a great discount,” Moltoni said.
