Edencraft Boats has added the 565, a new entry-level boat that’s as happy fighting pelagics offshore as it is chasing whiting around the estuaries.
“This is the ultimate boat for the fisho that does a bit of everything,” Edencraft said in a statement announcing the new model.
“Pelagics offshore, whiting and snapper in the bay, diving your local reefs, even towing your mates up and down the river. Whatever you ask, the 565 delivers.”
The new Edencraft 565, built in Geelong, Victoria, measures only 5.65 metres long with a beam of 2.22 metres, making it an ideal size to tow and store.
Using what appears to be the same spray-deflecting deep-vee hull as the 6.0 Offshore, Edencraft says the new 565 features predictable handling and safety, making it “easy to drive for beginners with kids and seasoned skippers alike”.
“Significant updates include removing the planing plank for improved handling in messy seas, a flared bow to keep everyone dry and improve safety in following seas, updated dash to fit a 16-inch screen, a swinging and removable dive door, and widened side coamings”, Edencraft said.
Edencraft said the 565’s hull was the “perfect combination of weight, weight distribution, length and beam”.
It said the new hull was towable “by the average family car” and ideal as a first offshore boat, for anyone downsizing from a larger boat, or “a family looking to drag the kids away from the TV and into the great outdoors”.
No pricing was specified, but standard equipment appears to be pretty rich. Highlights include a Lone Star GX1 winch fitted to an anchor well with hatch, a swinging removable dive door, heavy-duty stainless steel fittings, dual live bait tanks, and a kill tank.
Few other details are available.
